hi guys, iv got a budget of around 5.5k to build a pc (tower only) to be used primarily for gaming.
so far this is what im thinking about building is: gigabyte ab350-gaming 3 ryzen 5 2600x g.skill trident z 16GB 3200 galax gtx 1070 ti super flower leadex silver 550w evo 860 240gb 3tb hdd segotep k7 (about 5.5k) i)if there can be optimizations anywhere feel free to criticize ii)would an intel build be a better for gaming? they do tend to have better performance running single cores. iii)is there any way to get a m-itx mobo for a ryzen build (actually would prefer a tiny machine but if i cannot get it compact, ill just go atx) iv)not sure if the 3200hz ram would be of much benefit tbh(the board is suppose to be able run it at speeds) v)if i were to stick with ryzen, would the B350 perform about as well as an X370 or X470? (stuck with the b350 cause its cheaper and i dont think i need the extra slots or sli compatibility) This post has been edited by lsm1991: Jun 23 2018, 11:52 AM |

alright.. so managed to lock these down
ryzen 5 2600x = 900 g.skill trident z 16gb 3200MHz = 890 galax 1070 ti exoc snpr = 1990 super flower leadex silver 550w = 285 gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 = 415 tecware void = 275 (yes rubbish airflow, but so pretty) 4755, other than obscene ram prices, rest of the bits were cheaper (slightly) than expected. now im left with storage.... not sure if this is the right thread to ask about the minor details like this, but why on earth is samsung's ssd's a whole ton more expensive!? im assuming for a gaming machine, i can save some $$$ here and get an ssd with decent reads but slower writes? anyone have any opinions these: Apacer AS340 GALAX 240GB GAMER L |

QUOTE(nazzleigh04 @ Jul 4 2018, 12:02 PM) [Budget] ~ Rm 3000 This post has been edited by lsm1991: Jul 4 2018, 01:07 PM[Purpose] as a second gaming pc for my son plus creating digital music as hobby. [Hardwares that will be re-use] tv, mouse/keyboard, speaker [Monitor resolution] 1360x768 tv (not monitor) [Games & softwares that use frequently] Just Cause 3, Fifa 19, Forza Horizon 3, GTA V plus FL Studio. [Personal preferences] C-Zone Rm 810 - R5 1600 Rm 429 - Asus Prime B350M-A ?? (reports of freezing/stuttering?) just a suggestion, try lookup some dealers on lelong, just saying there are more interesting options (even cpu/mobo combos) for less Rm 340 - Kingston D4 PC2666 1x8gb ?? (16gb really necessary?) 8 is fine (at least it is for gaming) Rm 749 - Zotac GTX 1050 Ti 4gb mini ?? (overkill for 768p?) iirc galax has offers now, if you for some reason want a full sized card Rm 135 - SSD WD Green 120gb thats very little space. (i see some 240gb models available for around 250? think about upgrading Rm 158 - Seagate Barracuda 1tb Rm 229 - Corsair VS550 ?? (supposedly not good for OC?)should not be an issue Rm 109 - Segotep K6 casing Total - Rm 2939 or maybe I really should go 1080p in the near future with a new monitor? i think, thats really your call [Location] Semenyih I'd really appreciate any help given. It's just that I'm kinda frustrated when researching for parts and getting myself conflicted/confused even more.. ps/ kingkingyyk retired already? |

QUOTE(toffy @ Jul 6 2018, 04:05 PM) Hi folks. with a 5k budget, should easily net you 16gbI want to buy a brand new rig. Need it for some occasion gaming (but I am not a hardcore gamer). No fancy RGB stuff and no need to have any monitor, keyboard or mouse. I would like to have 16Gb RAM. What can RM5000 get me? Should I get GTX 1080? I am not sure if I should get Ryzen or Intel. Thanks. Processor/MOBO: intel build: i5 8400 - rm700 gigabyte b360m gaming 3 - rm331 (there are cheaper units out there) ryzen build: ryzen 5 2600x = rm900 gigabyte ab350 gaming 3 = rm415 Ram G.SKILL AEGIS SERIES 8GB DDR4 2400MHZ x 2 - rm650 (total) GPU galax 1070 ti exoc snpr = rm1990 zotac 1080 mini = rm2250 (tbh, far a cassual gamer this is kind of overkill? maybe a 1060 6gb would be fine) PSU super flower leadex silver 550w = rm285 HDD toshiba 3tb - rm320 SSD lots of options here from WD, galax, sandisk, kingston, and others. Its about rm200 for 240gb (if you want something higher end, go for samsung's evo 860 or crucial mx500 which is about 50% more expensive) you can mix the bits here and there to fit the budget (e.g. if you want a 1080 you will probably need to take the intel build which leaves you almost 300 for a case) |
