Hi all,

I am planning to build my first PC (white theme with RGB effect).
I mainly use it for gaming (NBA2k, Dota2) and some engineering software (CAD & Solidworks).

Parts are as below,

Processor-i5-8600k
MB-Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E
GPU-Galax 1080 HOF
Memory-G.Skill Trident Z 3000 RGB 16GB
SSD-Samsung 960 Evo M.2 250GB
HDD-Seagate Firecuda SSHD 1T
CPU Cooler-NZXT Kraken X52
PSU-Cooler Master V750 Gold
Case Fan-NZXT Aer 120 RGB Starter Kit
Case-NZXT S340 Elite or Corsair 780t

Is this build OK? Any better alternative parts suggestion?
Would appreciate any advice from you guys.
Still undecided on the case as i preferred 780t design but worry its too big, with so few parts inside gonna look too empty?

Thanks in advance

I suggest i7-8700K instead because it may be the one and only CPU you'll buy for this platform. Intel mainstream 8 core in the future may not be compatible.

Spacious is actually good for heat. The heat does not accumulate too fast.

Sifus, can I get some recommendations for a SSD? I have been recommended an 850 Evo 500GB but that's rather pricey. Any other brands/alternatives to recommend?

Multiple emulator usually needs multiple CPU core and RAM. And you are asking too much for PC when ringgit is shit and RAM prices are sky high.

AMD Ryzen 3 1200 - 519
Asrock B350M Pro 4 - 399
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 X1 - 395
MSI GT 710 1GB DDR3 - 170
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 200
Coolermaster Elite 350W - 139
Tecware F3 case - 145

RM1967 total (C-Zone prices)
*
Could I switch Asrock B350M Pro 4 to MSI B350M PRO-VDH Plus? Couldn't find the former on lazada
link

Edit: Never mind, looked up some forums and got creepy info about MSI mobos. Guess I'll just keep searching.

I was hoping to get a decent one at RM 600 since I'm considering getting my second Dell P2314H monitor and another 8GB RAM stick

Your budget is short for 500GB. Go for 250GB.

Change the power supply. Corsair VS 450 or 550 and FSP is better.

AMD Ryzen 1200 has 4 cores, G4560 has only 2. Definitely Ryzen 3 1200 will blow G4560 away. On top of that, AMD says the motherboard will be supported till at least 2020. G4560 is dead if you cant find Kaby Lake CPUs for upgrade if Intel no longers manufactures it. Coffee Lake is not compatible with G4560 motherboard chipsets.

AMD Ryzen 3 1200 - 519
Asrock AB350M Pro4 - 399
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 - 395

Thanks for the reply, will probably fund a bit more for Ryzen 3 as I need a dedicated gc to pair with it, currently running old GT220.
