Oh, think I worded my sentence in a wrong way, I am planning to buy PC parts right now, to which ideally to have my gaming PC all set up to enjoy by the year end.

From your advice then, best would be for me to wait until Q1 2026 for the 50 Super series (and get the 5070 Super 18GB VRAM) and lower Intel CPU prices then?
*
Yup. You can buy other stuff first, RAM, SSD (Yes! buy these now as their soon going up in prices!), PSU, case, etc.

GPU if you can snag a 5070TI @RM3.5k (correction) during flash sales is a good deal so no need wait for Supers if you can. The balance 3.5k can build a very capable Core 7 265K + high tier B860 / low tier Z890 mobo, plus the above. Target to get a 850W ATX 3.x Gold rated PSU.

Don't place it until it has no airflow. NAS and Virtualization is going to be hard. AMD has crappy idle power. Virtualization doesn't like Intel e-cores (can be fixed with apps like ProcessLasso). Unfortunately, finding a m-ATX NAS case is challenging.

Hi sifus, need recommendations for a new laptop.

[Budget] Optimally ~3k

[Purpose] Heavy statistical calculations especially in systematic reviews, ideally gaming laptop at the same time

[Monitor resolution] No specific preference

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Usual Office programs with Mendeley, SPSS, R and RStudio, JASP/Jamovi and multiple browsers opened at the same time. Possible FF14, Warframe and some gacha games.

My searches pointed me in the direction of the Acer Nitro V15 but would like to knnow if there are any better recommendations?

Too far fetched for your budget. Those at 3K come with old RTX2050 / 3050 are too weak for games. Gaming laptops fail quite fast due to the under-engineered heatsink, so you need to fork out another amount of money to extend warranty.

You best bet would be Ryzen AI / Core Ultra with USB4 / TB4. The built in GPU still run games (worse than RTX2050 / 3050), but you don't need to worry about excessive heat causing desoldering in the long run. They are easy on mobility with thin, light and long battery life.
Example: https://www.nbplaza.com.my/acer-laptop/1330...11-hsm365-.html

For the event you need run more intensive game / higher FPS, use a USB4/TB4 GPU case later on. Get a 9060XT in it and it will soundly beat even the RTX5070 laptop version.
Example: https://www.tmt.my/products/razer-core-x-v2...phics-enclosure

Thank you for all the replies. If I increased the budget by ~500, will the HP Victus 15 be better?

Recently upgraded the gpu (got it at below MSRP) in my SFF mini ITX rig.
I am thinking if I need to upgrade the cpu too (if there is a cpu bottleneck.) budget of Rm1.5k - 2.0k for this cpu upgrade.
And if I need upgrade the cpu cooler or PSU subsequently.

Main (only) use is single player gaming at 1440p 120-144fps and occasionally 4k 60-120fps on my tv. I do run this desktop headless and it streams via Apollo/sunshine on a 2.5gbps lan connection.

ryzen 5 7500F
Asrock A620i lightning wifi
32GB klevv 6000mhz CL32
RTX5080 windforce OC SFF
AK400 digital white deepcool
CH160 deepcool case
1TB NVME SSD + 2TB NVME SSD
850W Thermal right gold TG850-W.

Go for 7800X3D or 9800X3D. 4k resolution will need GPU upgrade. Make sure you use the latest BIOS as Asrock boards kills X3D CPUs.

That’s my concern with Asrock boards.
Especially with the 9800X3D.
Is 850W sufficient for 7800x3D + 5080?

Don’t think I’ll go for the 5090 or 4090.
I’ll stick with my 5080 with frame gen + DLSS for 4k gaming. benchmark for 4k gaming is the ps5 pro haha, as long it’s better performance than that, I’m happy enough.

Plenty for that, and IINM the widespread reports that ASRock boards killing X3D chips mostly applies to their 800 series models, not their 600 series icon_idea.gif

zennji If you are willing to wait a bit, the upcoming 11.11 Sales should have plenty of good deals on PC parts icon_idea.gif
There used to be a RX9070 XT retailing at under RM3K back in the 10.10 Sales icon_idea.gif

myway1985 If TS is willing to forgo about 10% GPU performance the vanilla RX9070 is a much better deal, and fits the budget nicely:
