Hi all, i'm looking for a mATX motherboard for around RM600++ (RM700 MAX) to accommodate these components:
1) Intel i5-14500 CPU (NEW) 2) NVIDIA 4070 Super (NEW) 3) 32GB of DDR4 RAM (currently on 16GB, planning on adding another 16GB. Not sure if I should go dual channel (2 x 16GB) or quad channel (4 x 8GB)...) 4) Samsung 860 EVO (carried over from existing PC) 5) WD SATA SSD (carried over from existing PC) 6) WD Blue HDD (carried over from existing PC) 7) A Cooler Master PSU (carried over from existing PC) I've shortlisted these motherboards: 1) ASROCK B760M PG LIGHTNING 2) GIGABYTE B760M H DDR4 3) MSI PRO B760M-G DDR4 Not entirely sure which one i should opt for. To me it seems the ASROCK is the most feature/ports packed. It's the only one on the list with 4 RAM slots too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! I would advise getting at least Pentium G6405 or Core i3-10100 setup for future proofing . New Windows 11 also doesn't support a lot of old hardware. My objective to upgrade to Win 10 was due to recently our bank PBE had updated requirement for browser which leads to old (Windows 7) browser failed to work with their banking app.. so we need to get the OS updated.... Well very thank you for the suggestion....I was also still wandering from that CPU which have LGA1200...just realized u post 1 combination.. that was 2x more then our budget...what about AMD will it cheaper? This one is extremely value for money. If you cannot accept the reality of crappy ringgit and inflation, it is hard. Even the food today is already more than 5 times the cost compared with 30 years ago. Recommendation is new parts. I've picked i3-10105 instead of Pentium G6405 because Pentium is currently ridiculously overpriced. Around RM320 for 2 cores, 4 threads. Pay RM60 more for Core i3-10105 that comes with additional 2 cores. AMD? Athlon 3000G. - 235 Asrock A320M-HDV - 199 Kingston 8GB DDR4-3200 X2 - 180 |

I was looking around garage sales section and found some legacy P45 or X58.. wondering if these chipset can works with W10 Win10 will only get supported for the next 1.5 years before its obsoleted unless your Enterprise customer, when they do alot of business platforms will deprecate Win10 support as well so better to shoot for a Win11 capable system to upgrade at least. My objective to upgrade to Win 10 was due to recently our bank PBE had updated requirement for browser which leads to old (Windows 7) browser failed to work with their banking app.. so we need to get the OS updated.... Also iinm, Win11 requires hardware TPM so older systems will not do. Try target something from 10th Gen Cometlake /11th Gen Rocketlake series as these has protection from all the infamous security holes in past Intel CPUs. These will also get supported way into Windows12 This post has been edited by babylon52281: Mar 8 2024, 10:46 AM Ichitech liked this post

QUOTE(simmarjit @ Mar 8 2024, 12:24 AM) You ady paying AM5 tax then on top you add ITX tax as well, and if you go ROG then you tambah Asus tax. On top this you now have to add on 2% extra Madani SST tax and taxation from our shitty Madani currency. This post has been edited by babylon52281: Mar 8 2024, 10:51 AM bluemind liked this post

QUOTE(PepegaMan @ Mar 8 2024, 10:08 AM) Thanks sir! Most consumer PC mobo are only setup for dual channel whether its 2 or 4 RAM slots you see. Only Threadripper /Xeon will have quad channel RAM config.Just found out running four slots is also called dual channel 😅 You mean 2 x 16GB right? Running 2x16GB sticks is more stable than 4x8GB but only slightly as the rank config for both is the same so chances to have problems getting up to XMP speed is lebih kurang sama. If want hassle free get 2x8GB as 8GB DDR4 sticks nearly always is single rank. Do you really need 32GB? If yes, then 2x16GB and it doesnt matter whether the mobo has 2 or 4 slots coz be warned that your likely to have stability issues if you try add another 2x16GB sticks (for 64GB). So dont go waste your money later. PepegaMan liked this post
