Did a quick online search, K242HL is using TN panel, not IPS.

The cheapest Acer IPS monitor is R221Q, 21.5", around RM 500.

I'm looking at the following system for RM3,165. It's a used/secondhand system with a new GPU.

Can I get some feedback on this build? Is it worth it?

Intel Core i5 4440
Asus H97 Plus
8GB HyperX Fury 1866MHz RAM
Asus GTX 1060 6GB Dual
240GB m.2 SSD
WD Green 1TB HDD
Cooler Master K380 Casing
Cooler Master 500w PSU

Quite reasonable. You might wanna replace that questionable power supply though.

Depends on your other requirements, like casing, storage, brand etc.

Based on my calculation, 4.5k can mostly fit i5 CPU, a non-K i5 is known to create CPU bottleneck when pairing with GTX1070, the GTX1070 won't be able to fully utilize/unleash its full power/potential in CPU demanding titles like Watch Dogs 2, TC: GR Wildlands, Hitman 2016 etc.

Hey guys. Sorry for a little off topic question. I was wondering there were no more seasonic PSU recommendations. I have seen many seller dropped their products as well. Is Seasonic out of business?

This is because Edifier MY (distributor) has stopped bringing in Seasonic PSU into Malaysia since Q3 last year.

AFAIK there is no new distributor for Seasonic in Malaysia yet, Seasonic HQ in Taiwan will be in charge of RMA/warranty and it will take longer time to complete the claim.

From an i5 4460 to an i7 7700, there will definitely be an improvement for performance. You can check this.

A possible wallet-friendly upgrade is to trade up your i5 4460 to an i7-4790 or an i7 4790K if your existing mobo supports OC.

ITX is more expensive than normal size. This is the price for just normal

Core i7-7700 - 1378
Gigabyte B250M-HD3 - 409
Corsair 8GB DDR4-2133 x1 - 260
Cheapest GTX 1070 8GB DDR5 - 1750 (estimated from Garage Sales)
Seagate 1TB HDD - 212
Corsair VS 550W - 248
Additional 12cm fan (Required. Most graphic cards on sale these days does not vent the heat directly) - 25
Thermaltake V3 (pick your model) case - 169

RM4451 total (C-Zone prices)

To go ITX, you need these

Gigabyte H270N-WIFI - 649
Coolermaster Elite 130 - 199

Or even smaller but more expensive

Gigabyte H270N-WIFI - 649
Silverstone SFX 600W - 585
Silverstone ML08B case - 339

Adding SSD for a new PC will get you less base performance.

The 500w Cooler Master psu came with the secondhand rig.

I was told there shouldn't be any issue since the GTX1060 doesn't exceed 122w:

Because Coolermaster has a crappy line of PSUs. Extreme Power Plus is one of them.

Oh, that chart is just the graphic card, not total system power consumption.

Base performance is PC performance. SSD just improves load times.

520 is for X2. Forgot to update

5k can get you better stuffs and i7.

Core i7-7700 - 1378
Gigabyte B250M-HD3 - 409
Corsair 8GB DDR4-2133 x2 - 520
MSI GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 T OC - 1300
Samsung 850 Evo 250GB - 482
Seagate 1TB HDD - 212
Super Flower Leadex Gold 550W - 429
Corsair Spec (pick your model) case - 299

RM5029 total (C-Zone prices)
