Despite its faster on newer API DX12/Vulkan (I know DX12 is a cluster fuck but still it's the future) and slightly cheaper. Also, get to utilize adaptive sync with lower budget (Freesync). Any idea why?

Yeah. Malaysians are really butthurt about AMD. Nvidia kinda has that "prestige" status when comes to GPU. Nvidia titles aside, if ppl study the benchmarks in a while, as in 2016 vs 2017 benchmarks, RX480's performance is increasing gradually overtime when comparing to GTX1060, they're pretty much on par (sponsored titles like Hitman, RotTR aside. DX12/Vulkan is pretty a clear win for AMD

Speaking of Freesync monitors, sometimes non-adaptive sync monitor even more expensive than freesync monitor despite the similar specs. which I can't understand why. Freesync 144hz is kinda pointless as there's still no viable AMD GPU to feed that amount of framerates for newer games.

Hate it when ppl oppose my suggestion for AMD and insisting Nvidia is better without justifying why. The best they do is show me old benchmarks.

True that. Hopefully Vega's pricing can be something like Ryzen, but that's not gonna happen.
