Hi all sifus!

Planning to upgrade pc, gonna give ryzen a try, and may want to do some mild overclock in the near future.

Ryzen 5 1600
Asus Prime B-350 Plus (Been following another thread, seems like this is the best B350 board)
Corsair Ram CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 Vengeance® LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM
PSU - SUPERFLOWER LEADEX 650W 80 PLUS Silver (is this ok? or have to get the Gold series, RM100 difference)

Planning to get from techview due to location convenience, only thing not sure they have the Asus mobo.

Any advise is much appreciated smile.gif

The RAM model listed by you is supported by Ryzen (certified by Corsair) but some people complained on Reddit that they failed to keep it running on 3000MHz, have to downclock to 2666MHz for total stability.

And about the PSU, Silver unit is under tier 2 while the Gold unit is under tier 1, if you can fork out the extra RM 100 then why not right laugh.gif

If budget is a concern then the Silver unit will work fine too, but due to stock shortage of Superflower PSU, you might be forced to get other brands.

Noted! May just go ahead with the Gold tier 650W.

As for mobo, looks like asus has no stock - is the ASROCK AB350 PRO4 AM4 MAINBOARD ok for overclocking? Just thinking of running it at 3.7 or 3.8 at stock cooler when i do decide to oc.

RAM wise, guess it's ok since goldfries using that exact SKU lol biggrin.gif

Asrock AB350 Pro4 should be OK, helped my friend build his ryzen rig using this board, cheap and good.

PSU is not something you should save too much. The protections and electrical output quality also affects the life of connected hardware.

Corsair VS 450W at RM184 from C-Zone.

I can tell you. Intel is not worth the money for workstation rig. The extra cores and threads will blow Intel away.

Also, your budget too low to build a good workstation rig.

Core i5-7400 - 837
Gigabyte B250M-D3H - 449
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2133 X1 - 254
Corsair VS 450W - 184
Tecware F3 case - 124
Phillips 257E7QDSB 25" monitor - 659

RM2507 total

Just get the adapter. Built-in on regular motherboards are hard to come by these days. Wifi does not include Bluetooth. It depends on motherboard.

So far only high end ATX Z270 and mITX Z270 come with WiFi card and yes, they do come with Bluetooth connectivity (mostly 4.2 and above) and dual band WiFi support.

Just get a cheap 2.4GHz TP-LINK WiFi adapter if you are using normal 2.4GHz router and would like to save money.

That's front panel USB port, don't forget you still have rear USB port from your mobo, if your mobo comes with 4 rear USB ports then you will have 8 USB ports in total.

Sifus,

Torn between Asus Strix Z270-G and Z270-E, couldn't find out much difference between the two but RGB lighting position is diff. Any comments which spot nicer?

Also torn between Asus Strix 1050TI and Strix 1060 for its RGB, spec wise 1050TI should do max for my frequent day to day Dota2, potential nice upcoming MMOs as well. Any comments for the lightings?

IMO, the 1060 won't look nice in my target build but 1050TI RGB only on the small logo. Will pair with NZXT X-42 and Trident Z RGB.

Don't bash me coz I'm a sweet tooth for those RGBs. Not sure where else to share my indecisiveness. :'(

hi not really a sifu [just recently got into rgb stuff] but heres my experience so far, it depends on what special effect u want. if going for single color mode its quite easy to configure. but if u want like special color shift/rainbow/etc mode and match everything else in ur case - rgb gpu, rams, strip, fans, etc, it can take some time and effort to configure. u must careful when choosing the brands for the rgb stuff cause not all of them can work together with each other. like ur asus mobo + gpu i think no problem, need to check on those rams though. again it depends on what effect u going for. and are u putting in rgb fans and strips too, if so need to check on those too.

so far the rgb stuff im playing with is -
software side: razer keyboard, logitech keyboard, Armageddon mouse, gigabyte mobo, gigabyte gpu, corsair strip
manual controller: segotep fans and case, armageddon fans, china brand strip

ive done some research too on thermaltake rgb riing plus fans and corsair hd120 fans for future upgrade, so far i think the TT fans cant work together with my current corsair node strip, and the hd120 have some ''mode'' missing if not using together with the node strip <- sweat.gif [wtf]

and not sure if the asus aura can work together with other component as well, still researching on this
