Noted, i will post the PCB pic later. Never tried that, u mean power button on the box or IR remote? It's an old box running Android 4.0 (QNET HD) Googled and couldn't find any info about this box
this is very old, very obsoete, >6 years old.
if u spent yr time writing, taking photos, posting here on another job, u would hv earned rm500 to buy a new box.

In Korea now, one regret didn't bring my box here. I was in Jeju since yesterday and yesterday's hotel room was 60" inch Samsung TV and today's hotel is 55" Samsung as well, Korean and their patriotism.
Fast Internet with big TV.
But again, I won't have time to watch as well since busy sightseeing.

When I was there 4 years ago, their hotels already providing 100mbps internet speed. I guess you are getting even faster speed now. Btw, your S912 box got dark screen issue?

That's what I asked you. Why you didn't bring along your box? hahahaa but if you follow tour than is hard. I love Jeju too. A very windy island.
too bad now is not strawberry season.

Power up auto boots in about 30 seconds to last use environment, either desktop or TV BOX mode.
UI is smooth & snappy. Desktop or TV BOX selection using remote only... you dead if lost the remote.
Remote is small shiny plastic...why can't they make it matte? button click stupidly loud...
In desktop mode, need double mouse click to launch. Right mouse button launch "save or share" option, not back. Single click in TV mode
Both Modes have auto hide top navigation bar, bottom Status bar can select show or auto hide option.
Running apps show up in Status bar just like pc.
No Root... if required needs serial cable hardware hack.
Has notification panel like Windows 10. No screen overlay allowed... all info / notification mostly goes to this panel... So some apps don't behave as expected.
No 3rd party launcher... not allowed.
No auto start... not allowed... so no auto run Wukong, Teamviewer, etc...needs manual start & keep it running. If exit, box will close & clear memory.
Box goes to sleep if no activity for some time... can't set.
Wifi good... as good as my Q16 with external antenna at 20 feet + 1 wall. 5GHz & Gigabit Lan not tested.
On off switch is proximity based...glow blue circle when on... nothing when off & hard to find...
IR sensor at this switch too pointing up...really stupid IMHO for my use... not sensitive, can't bounce it off the wall...must point to it...
Picture and sound qualities too early to tell...
...to be continued
So far happy with this

Reads to me like too much hassle, too many red flags (Within spoiler in red... lol wut!) even for a $40 device.. I'll stick to stock Android..

Hi Guys,
I'm planning to get Mi Box and i'm kinda new to this box tv thingy. After doing some research in Lazada, i would like you guys opinion on this 2
May i know if this 2 box is the same thing? which should i get?
Thanks in advance.
Both appear to be the same device... Question you have to answer is: Option 1.. About RM55 more + faster delivery time with 6 months official warranty from Xiaomi Malaysia and unsure if Global device or not...OR Option 2.. Cheaper + longer delivery time with no warranty and confirmed Global ROM. To answer which you should get, Option 1..

OK la, around that speed as well. Mine is S905, apa itu dark screen issue?

No la. Not following tour, went with three Korean oni. They drove and I followed.

I propose Option 3: Run from the MiBox...
Isn't global version better?
So what would u suggest on option 3? as frm wht i read, mi box has better stability at good price.

Global version is better... Why option 1 is cuz the 6 months warranty by Xiaomi Malaysia (and not the seller) hints that it's a global version... Plus, you'd get it faster.. Ask around, I prefer to buy local..
There we go with the "better stability at a "good" price... Our needs and budget are different.. The MiBox will not satisfy my requirements.. I mean, for one, it doesn't even have an Ethernet connection port .. I use the Minix Neo U1 by the way..
I got the same box with android 6.0. Very good so far, exclusive for Kodi use with exodus add-on. But then my TV is only full HD and I do not have any sound set-up, so cannot comment on those.
