I'm looking for medical insurance for my 6 mths old baby. Any advice?
*
It's advisable for the baby to get firstly

1. Medical Card
- to cover for any illnesses or health problem which might need treatment to be corrected while they are growing up

2. Critical Illness coverage
- to support as a form of income replacement if the child gets any critical illness

Here are some list of juvenile critical illness that can be covered under Junior Critcal Care

Hi, Anyone can advise if there is any medical & life insurance that covers a Malaysian working in foreign country. Let's say.. Philippines or Indonesia. Preferred the insurance to be purchased in Malaysia though..
*
If you plan to work long term overseas then it will advisable to purchase their local insurance over there.

However just for your info that AIA has Expat Package that covers you even @ overseas for Medical Insurance, not many ppl know about this. This includes Maternity delivery, Medical Aid Equipments & GP Outpatient claims as well.

Great Eastern to sell stake in Malaysian ops for RM4.19bil

PETALING JAYA: Great Eastern Holdings Ltd is reportedly planning to dispose of its stake in its Malaysian operations for as much as US$1bil (RM4.19bil).

According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the Singapore-listed insurer had already engaged a Malaysian bank to discuss the potential deal.

Great Eastern is a 87%-owned subsidiary of OCBC Bank in Singapore.

Not sure if they're selling out 100% or just selling some of their stake for the BNM guideline on localize ownership by June 2018.

want to ask everyone on NCD , currently insurance policy with 0% NCD where the policy will be expired on 29 Sept 2017. If i sell the car now and transfer ownership at JPJ completed on 20th Sept 2017. However there is 9 days more to reach 1 year, i don't cancel the policy and let it til expiration date.

Will i have 2nd year NCD of 25% when i buy a new car next month?

you can either go for a standalone medical coverage, or a comprehensive plan that also covers other benefits on top of the medical coverage. depends on your affordable budget, then things can be discussed more.

Sorry I'm not so familiar with this, probably it's best you call to JPJ to verify the info

Yes you can. Nobody will have their NCD refreshed with buying new car.

Since you're going there for work, it is by law that your employer insures you.

This is the same for foreigners coming to work in Malaysia, as well as Malaysians going to work anywhere in the world.

Hi Daryl,

It is a good thing that you're insuring your baby right now.
Myself, and many others here, in the insurance industry will always encourage that.

However, we have no idea on your objectives other than to have a medical insurance for your 6 months old baby.
With the little info, frankly you may go ahead to buy from any insurance company. They will all be able to meet your purpose.

What I am trying to say is that it is best for you to contact an agent, meet him up for a discussion into the matter, and work it out together.
Buying an insurance policy is always a two-way process.
Yes, any agent would recommend their company's product. But ultimately it is your financial plans. It will work for you.
The benefactor of it is ultimately your family and yourself.

Maybe you can start with answering some criteria such as:
1) Would you mind some co-insurance?
2) Would you prefer to have deduction?
3) How about lifetime limits?

*You may add on to the list.

Hi all, need advice whether the underwriter will found out my medical record as a registered diabetes patient as I went to government hospital for my diabetes treatment this year...I plan to upgrade my prudential insurance medical limit due to now already have this sickness to protect future other sickness sufficient medical payment if incurred lump sum....my lifetime limit now is rm650k....want upgrade to rm1mil....which I will ask my agent to quote me a new premium fee and again should I tell my agent about my newfound diabetes condition....?

Another option I checked is now AIA also have rm1mil medical claim and rm200k to next of kin if died....which my plan now only is rm50k...and AIA can offer the same premium I'm paying now to prudential....so I felt AIA is more benefiting but again Read a lot negative feedback on many rejected medical claims and irresponsible AIA agent overrated insurance company....The plan is good but future agent service or claim is difficult......and again if I am required to do medical test sure I'm positive diabetes....which may cause either the prudential or AIA reject to cover me....

Please advice my dilemma...Thanks. ..

Depends on how severe is your diabetes

Chances of buying a new medical Card is near to impossible let alone upgrade.

TPD is most likely a decline

At most the new offer is only for death coverage and cancer coverage. Which death coverage might be decline if your reading is too high

For the Medical card upgrade or even getting a new one is not possible if it is confirmed as diabetes. Whatever the agent promises or they will disappear when the claims get rejected for diabetes related claims.

The failure to disclose material fact that may impact how the policy is being underwritten may cause the policy to be null and void.

Whether the claims dept will find out is irrelevant. If they are served with a court order due to claims dispute, the medical records is as bright as daylight.

If you are still insisting on getting the upgrade (or buy new one) of the medical card, there is no one to blame other than yourself if the claim is rejected, paying for something that won't work, while the agent still enjoy his/her commission.

Sorry the above may sound harsh, but it is to warn you against unscrupulous agents just after commission and don't do their job properly. When people are not able to claim, they lose trust in insurance.

The only plan that you could try if diabetes is PruCancer plan (that only pays if cancer), even that, a full disclosure of health is required.

Since you're well aware of such health hazard, you should probably check if your family or friends to make sure their coverage is sufficient otherwise they might suffer to same fate as you where their current insurance coverage may not be sufficient and may not be eligible to buy anymore insurance or purchase any upgrade further.

No Bro you need to complete the 1 year cycle. i suggest just wait for another few days. It will be a lengthy process as well.

Just check with insurance hotline, as long as don't cancel the policy and let policy serve enough 365 days. Will entitle the next year NCB smile.gif

I called twice with 2 difference customer service, I got the same answers.
