QUOTE(cucubud @ Mar 2 2017, 07:31 AM)
On the topic of blocked caller,
If I blocked a number and delete it from the phone.
Does it mean that the caller will be permanently blocked from contacting my number?

Later if I don't want my number and it goes to a new user.
Will the caller number be be still blocked from contacting the new user?
*
When there is a number, we can use the phone to block. When the number is private it will still go through. So rather than rely entirely from blocking, might I suggest you use an app, such as 'Showcaller', that have a world wide database which you can contribute, do checking, etc etc. Nowadays there are too many telemarketers and they are such an annoyance. By using this app, all those unknown can be checked whether is spam or telemarketers or genuine. So when these 'people' calls, the caller id will have extra info if the number already reported to the database. So you can chose not to answer.

BTW blocking is specific to your phone and not your account/carrier. If you do sell your phone, just do a full reset to clear away all those info. Also if you do not use or access your voicemail, might as well you disable it, I have noticed that calling own voicemail is extra cost (maxis).

That is my opinion based on my testing lol. Why would you worry if the blocked caller can contact the new user or not

Just curious what will happen as I have blocked many many numbers in my phone.

Blocked numbers is restricted to your own number in your phone only. You had to reset the blocked numbers again if you switched to another different type of phone. You will only see a call message on all blocked numbers and a redirect to voice mail at times if caller stay longer waiting for your response. Your phone will not ring on all blocked numbers

If the numbers is in your Call Blocking list, then they are blocked until such time you remove them.

Are the blocked numbers tie to my number or to my phone?
After I blocked those numbers, I deleted them from my phone.
Does it means that once I deleted them, those numbers are considered unblocked to my number?

The blocking is done by the phone. The caller don't hear a voicemail immediately. On an iPhone, when you block a caller, the caller will hear like a 1 second ringing tone then only the voicemail as the phone will decline the call automatically.

Nope. The number will only be blocked in your current phone.
For iPhones, if you blocked a contact and delete the contact, the number itself will remain blocked. you can still unblock it.
But when you put your SIM in other phone, it will not be blocked.

Sorry, I am still confused.

If I blocked a number.
I did not unblock it and I removed it from my phone.
Can I still get calls from that number?

Edited to add this.

Is anyone not using a screen protector for your iPhone 7 or 7 plus here? Is the screen prone to scratches? I read articles and also complaints on Apple discussion forum about fine hairline scratches on the screen days or weeks after use even with careful handling. They said iPhone 7 screen scratches more easily than the previous models.

I am not using any screen protector at all lol

I use screen protector bought from Machinese (Rm98) and found hairline scratch on it after 2 months ranting.gif

But luckily it is on the screen protector and not on the phone so i guess i will leave my phone protected with a screen protector. Rather be safe than sorry tongue.gif

I am using the same as above. Nise rounded and chamfered corners. Also it is a bit small so no issues with using cases with these SP. Easy to apply and easy to clean too.

Will the block list be synced across all iOS devices if using same iCloud account?

Just bought JBL E25BT earphones to pair with my ip7, works flawlessly even when my phone was on the 2nd floor, in ear design so blocks out most sounds, punchy bass, decent call quality, functional neck clip so it doesn't get lost, small and easy to store with the provided pouch. 250 well spent!
