So I've been complaining a lot about the terrible touch ID on the iphone 7 plus here and finally today I got a one on one replacement set.
the new set works so so much better, and touch id recognize almost immediately even when my fingers are a bit sweaty. Guess I just had a faulty unit previously biggrin.gif

Good to hear, maybe ts can mark this post and pin in first page. Most likely due to hardware faulty.

That's great. Change at service center?
*
Yes, on the spot exchange. Took about 2 hours.
I called Apple Care and explained to them first, a few angmos talk to me and handled my case, plead to them to have on the spot exchange cuz it's my one and only phone. They open a case number for me, approve on the spot exchange (after going through diagnosis and all that).
Btw I exchanged mine at QCD Technologies Time Square, cuz I called a lot of service centres most of them will take 7 working days, only Time Square can exchange on the spot if problem is found.

Ah ok. You consider the iPhone 7 home button as a physical home button.

Yes, anything not inside the screen is physical.

I think others interpret it differently..

"That’s because the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus doesn’t come with a physical Home button like previous generation iPhones"

.. but we got your point.

Good news congrats. There are indeed lemons in the batch. Probably those with this issue can head down there.

Kudos for taking action on it. Very happy for u rclxms.gif
That will explain many of us here find nothing major on wet finger and urs keep failing.
Do take note over time the sensor will get less accurate or just our finger tip skin getting thinner.
Then need to rescan again.

To those who were having scanning issues and bashing ppl here, pls consider follow ace-user's good example: escalate to SC and get it resolved.

Cursing at the phone to everyone in the forum won't bring u anywhere.

Trust me. They won't. Lighting connector is they proprietary port. USB c is universal. They will lose out in the end of the change port. U know Apple la, everything want to "proprietary"

Thanks man. But I don't think I'm the only one with touch id issues, some of my friends unit oso like that. Mine got so bad that I couldn't even register a fingerprint and I couldn't tahan anymore. It was working great for the first month so I'll keep an eye on my replacement unit, will report again one month later hehe
