wanna ask this noob question...
Don't hammie knew they are siblings and so they won't have sex with each others? =.=!!! Or don't hammie's instinct tell them that siblings should not breed together.

Hamster don't care whether the other hamster is their sibling or not.
Male hamster have strong desire and will just have sex with any female hamster they encounter. Erm.. wonder whether they have AIDS ... |

one VERY stupid thing about humans when it comes to pet keeping is that they assume that PETS would like or must behave like human.
for example, just because we eat 3 times a day that doesn't mean pets need 3 meals a day. case in point, just because it's morally wrong to commit incest that doesn't mean it's wrong for pets to do so. |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jun 23 2007, 03:08 PM) one VERY stupid thing about humans when it comes to pet keeping is that they assume that PETS would like or must behave like human. Oh? FYI I did not say pets would act like humans alright? Apparently some people just like to think that they're smart without understanding statement of other people. I'm not talking in terms of moral here. Nobody is. We're just saying that it's not good for hamsters to have inbreeding. And when I said even humans inbreed have totally nothing to do with moral or not. I'm just saying that if some humans have the urge to sleep with their siblings, what more a hamster? Even some humans can't comprehend the downside of inbreeding that's my point. sheesh... I wonder who's stupid now. Yes call me narrow minded whatesover or 'xiao qi', I feel offended.for example, just because we eat 3 times a day that doesn't mean pets need 3 meals a day. case in point, just because it's morally wrong to commit incest that doesn't mean it's wrong for pets to do so. QUOTE(bizen @ Jun 23 2007, 11:18 AM) Haha... I got puddings >.< And only puddings alone... @_@ Hmmm... male and female... I remember seeing 2 females but then they are so young so can't see well.... Funny, my hamsters are easier to identify sex than the petshop ones.... A bit botak and pink? Hmmmm..... is there a larger gap for the botak one? You know lah, anus to genital..... if it's very close means female, if got a nice gap means male.Hun.. i wanna ask.. u remember the 2 female puddings that i let u identify that day?? Erm.. i check their private part yesterday and i saw one of it with pinklish, abit watery, and abit botak on the part... The other 1 looks normal... Kinda scary leh... T_T Sometimes the one with problem will make noises when the other 1 sniffs it... Is it because i identify it wrongly?? Like it is actually male & female and not female & female??? QUOTE(liez @ Jun 23 2007, 01:05 PM) wanna ask this noob question... Hamsters have no sense of who is mom or dad or brother or sister. Instinct just makes them wanna breed and breed as long there are males and females.Don't hammie knew they are siblings and so they won't have sex with each others? =.=!!! Or don't hammie's instinct tell them that siblings should not breed together. Think of it this way, they got such small brains compared to ours.... we can think clearly but not hamsters.... they go more for instinct than thinking. Added on June 23, 2007, 5:22 pmIf hamsters are bred at a young age..... they can become stunted in growth and would lead to a short life. Say the hamster's lifespan suppose to be 2 years.... it will cut short to 1.5 years.... pity the hamster right? Also, breeding is very stressful for the hamster's body as well if you do not provide quality food and care. This post has been edited by crazymouse_yyh: Jun 23 2007, 05:22 PM |

OH God!!!My pets are so naughty nowadays
my hamster did this very crazy thing that i scolded him so badly until i bought him a new cage( not his fault) but he could have died!!!! Last nite, around 1am,i scolded my kitten for running around in my room and he knocked my hamster's cage, then drop thick books on my hamster's cage and the cage 'kemek' a bit....my hamster was a bit frighten because of the loud noise, strangely my hamster is not afraid of the kitten ,it frightens my kitten that caused my kitten to act like that At 4 am this morning,i was still awake(watching tv on the bed) i heard this strange noise on the floor..i thought it was my kitten but he's still sleeping.Maybe it was a rat but ive never seen any rats before in my house. The sound got louder abit..i took my torchlite and guess what!! My hamster I just dont get it...how did he got down from the table??the table is rather high.He could have broke his bones..suffered major injuries but he was running happily on the floor when i caught him I got my hamster a new cage and the guy gave me this vitamin drink (green colour) free of charge thanks |
