yup gtx1080.. 16gb ram is passable...
8gb for swapping
8gb for game/windows ( windows 10 the last two versions when u enable exclusive fullscreen and no background nonsense.. it handles pretty well ) so around 2-4gb pagefile

but 1080ti most ppl are gaming at 1440p-4k..
lots of vram usage.. so.. 16gb is not enough

if u want to test this.. test on Call of Duty Advance warfare ( can makan all 11gb ram) or shadow of mordor ( the 1st one).. can makan 9gb
watch when u are entering new rendering scenes.. watch the fps drops...

disable pagefile in windows
use afterburner
enable osd for ram+pagefile.
so now ram shows the amount of physical ram is being used
pagefile ( since its disable) .. is the amount being reserved+used..... the closer u are to your max.. the more fps drops you are gonna see

so example u see ram usage 8gb and pagefile 15gb.. so in ure system ram.. 8gb is physical... 15gb minus 8 = 7gb is the amount being reserved.
you should try to make sure the pagefile stated here is less than the total ram amount u have ...

gtx1080 and ti has a huge advantage for streamers with the 2 Nvenc chips on board compared to 1070 1 chip.

havent found the spec for 1070ti whether it has 2 nvenc chips

If open world sandbox game also need more than 16gb ram?
I am playing ark survival evolved now,sometimes the far object didn't render out but the vram only use like 3.5gb ram 6gb.

Add ram will improve the render distance?

i think for games nowadays.. having 16gb ram is the most safest point.

if u want to check whether you are having issue with vram swapping. follow that instruction i stated before.

for a game like PUBG, 8gb is not enough if you have other programs from background

Hi, I have a very old computer system and mostly use it for gaming world of warcraft and streaming udang. To me it seems fast enough although nowadays to play WoW i have to set video settings to 3 out of max settings of 10 for it to run smoothly. Will solely by changing a graphics card help?

My gaming resolution is 2560x1600. Now it seems graphics card price are coming down abit. Msia ringgit also stronger. Also with the craze of crypto mining, i also feel like wanna try abit, but mining is not main priority, just an added bonus. Will swapping out just the GFX to a 1070 or 1080 yield the best result or will my mobo and CPU be too old that just getting a 1060 will be good cause a 1070 will yield same result as a 1060 on my computer? Also if 1070ti and 1080 price difference is RM 200 (based on newegg price) which is better choice?

True that. I've use 8gb before and i can see stuttering in game. Oldskul game like diablo 3 use >5 gb vram and over 8 gb ram for my pc. Using 4k ultra dsr

I was upgrading from i5 2500k ( running sub-4GHz speed ), CPU are still capable of handling most games, but my 2x4GB normal speed RAM barely keeping up.

PUBG is not that well optimize. even 1080ti can't get consistent 75fps at ultra

If you're only playing WoW, save your money and get a GTX1060, and get good mining/cost performance as well.

my 8gb still ok 4 another 2 years hahahaha

NVIDIA TITAN V launches. Only USD2999. 12GB HBM2 5120 CUDA CORES. The rated clocks seems low.

WoW is not light anymore. Crank up the graphics to level 10 and even GTX 1070 could struggle.

Definitely not for a pure gaming purpose, although it's the current GPU beast in the market.

The transistor count is a beast number

with around RM 12k I can buy a good gaming rig with 1080 TI already

titan V looks like supped up pascal with hbm2.

normally every major gen from nvidia will have lower cuda core but higher single precision compute. but this card just all increase to max level.

pity dudes that bought da starwars version in sli cause chances are one of these will be equivalent since sli gains on min fps normally arnd 50% mark.
