GPS service is FOC...Some software need to purchase to active the navigation..Without the navigation u can only see ur location on map..

GPRS is not FOC..U can setting to disable the software to update with GPRS..

what kinda softwares is needed to activate the navigation? let's say i at A rite now & wanted to go to B, can i mark the locations in the map & ask the navigator to guide me?

when we need to update the software with GPRS? for what purpose? for example i'm at Pudu rite now & wanted to know how to go to Kepong..using the GPS..will be i charged for GPRS charges?

Smart2go (Nokia Maps) need to purchase to active the navigation..
Without navigation, u only can plan route...More like simulation frm A to B..With navigation then it will guide u until the location..Even u wrong turn then the software will recalculate for u..

Yes, simulation won't have to pay a single cent. Smart2Go is actually free and you could download it from the Nokia website itself. Also you will need to install the MapLoader before you could transfer any maps into your phone(which is also in the website). All of this could be done for free. No charges at all.. Look back a few pages i think it's been discussed actually.. rclxms.gif

anyway, one last question. hehe.. always heard that telco will charge subscribers GPRS charges for using GPS, when will us be charged & for what kinda 'actions' when using GPS? or what i heard is untrue? thanks again. blush.gif

Remember to deactivate the map update which actually connects to the net just download the maps, and hence incurs data charges.

I am using E65 now. Will go low yat to buy 6110. Wan to use GPS. So this GPS should cover Navfone and Route 66 right? Do i need to upgrade the software myself? I am buying AP set.

This package they told me not included map. If include have to add another Rm50 for Asian map. What do u think? I only need it for KL and Selangor nia. Route 66 and Navphone never cover ah? Original Nokia from ap set not cover meh? or i being conned ah?

Asian map cannot get from the internet for free. But you can get the smart2go map for free. It covers KL-Sel & few other states too

What you actually got? BTW, Asia map is from Navphone...
