GPS service is FOC...Some software need to purchase to active the navigation..Without the navigation u can only see ur location on map..

GPRS is not FOC..U can setting to disable the software to update with GPRS..
*
what kinda softwares is needed to activate the navigation? let's say i at A rite now & wanted to go to B, can i mark the locations in the map & ask the navigator to guide me?

when we need to update the software with GPRS? for what purpose? for example i'm at Pudu rite now & wanted to know how to go to Kepong..using the GPS..will be i charged for GPRS charges?

Smart2go (Nokia Maps) need to purchase to active the navigation..
Without navigation, u only can plan route...More like simulation frm A to B..With navigation then it will guide u until the location..Even u wrong turn then the software will recalculate for u..

so means that if i use the simulation only, i will not charged for GPRS fees? how much is the Smart2Go by Nokia?

Yes, simulation won't have to pay a single cent. Smart2Go is actually free and you could download it from the Nokia website itself. Also you will need to install the MapLoader before you could transfer any maps into your phone(which is also in the website). All of this could be done for free. No charges at all.. Look back a few pages i think it's been discussed actually..  rclxms.gif

Remember to deactivate the map update which actually connects to the net just download the maps, and hence incurs data charges.
