Hi guyz...currently i'm using atom exec, but planning to get a nokia phone.... realised that i don't really like the touch screen feature, difficult to type message while walking n cannot view the screen while under the sun, no 3G,etc..etc.

i've a few concerns wrt this hp (after reading the review n comments in mobile99) n would like you guys as the owner to clarify it.
1) "AVI files are detected but not recognised, and will not play. MP4s are detected, but many of the clips only played audio and did not playback video". (easily treatable by installing 3rd party codec)
2) "When the video plays in music clips, it was jerky and paused frequently, indicating that the processor or the memory configuration is not up to the job". (is it true that the processor or memory not up to the job? Did u guyz experience any lagness while using other feature such as browsing through the net?)
3) "you can see the spring between both halves of the phone if you peek in between both halves of the phone when the keypad is revealed". (very minor prob. it will not going to border me if it is hardly noticeable)
4)"the Asia Maps application forces you to connect to GPRS to activate the application before it will work". (do I have to connect to GPRS everytime i want to use the GPS?)

no. 2 and no. 4 was my major concerns that held me back from buying this nice little gadget. please give your opinion based on ur own experience. tq.

1) get a video to mp4 converter that should do the trick.
2) yes the video is jerky and paused every few seconds which is like watching a scratched dvd.
3) yes the spring is noticeable between the phone but it doesn't bother me.

i just got my 6110 on Friday and god knows why cant i seem to get a position of where i am when i use the gps. i wasn't in a building. i was in my car and started the gps to test it out, after 20 minutes while driving the gps still couldn't detect where i was. i tried using route 66 and nokia maps both same result. does anyone here now if this gps problem is normal or is it just my phone? anything i can do to speed up to get my position?

Hi sonyclie77,

Just to ask whether we can copy all the files in the original 512MB micro SD to my new microSD,then will the files in new mSD work with my navigator..Thanks.

NAVFone, as far as what I've explored during my short ownership of the 6110 Navigator, covers most of the major cities in Peninsula Malaysia.

KL is definitely in, and so is JB. smile.gif Not sure of other smaller towns in Johor though.

I believe that can be done, though I've not personally tried that.

aperfecte,

You should stand under a clear sky and try it again. Initial satellite lock could take some time, and you shouldn't be driving while trying to get it done for the first time.

but how long did it take everyone to get a initial satelite lock and how much times does it take you now after frequent usage?

also does anyone know where i can d/l free games or any useful application?

i'm reading Symbian Discussion: Series 60, ** Installation Guide ** but there's 113 pages and i've got no time to read all 113 pages plus not all the games are for 6110.

any help is appreciated.

As mstr583 mentioned, GPS has nothing to do with your telco.

The 6110 Navigator should be able to achieve a fix out of the box without having to fiddle with the settings.

The first time your try to connect, it might take around 5-10 minutes.

Try to leave it on for a longer period of time.

If that does not work, go back to your vendor and ask him/her to teach you how to operate it. smile.gif
