1. Preferred brand : any
2. Budget : 2.5k - 4k
3. Usage : web surfing, work, research, dota 2, streaming. Hoping for a smooth and lag free experience.
4. Screen Size : 14 and above?

I'm prioritizing i7 processor 8th generation and SSHD. If budget permits, preferably get a SSD and 8GB RAM.

Thanks sifus for help!

Yeah, probably greater power consumption at 100% usage. Don't know about the clockspeed too, since last time, more cores will need to be clocked lower to lower power consumption/heat management. Ryzen for laptop sure is taking it's sweet time though, if too late, could possibly be dead upon arrival.

if you need portability go school or go work that needs compact everything in a machine... you kinda need laptop.. but if you gonna place the machine in 1 place just purposely for gaming and rarely bring it for LAN party, then i think desktop still cheapest than laptop for that budget... with monitor... keyboard and mouse.. i able do gaming rig at cost me rm4k at most.. with high spec gpu and cpu
