thank you.

while in malaysia, will mostly fly using MAS so i guess enrich points better. flying to taiwan and us for this 1 year period. so i think the uob lounge access have more options.

CIMB actually has more access to lounges worldwide compared to UOB ... if you can qualify for CIMB Petronas VI, you should apply as well since it's free for life and has 4x lounge access (I think) per year with no strings attached.

Then you are in for some treat. I think for overseas spend, UOB Privi Miles Elite is still one of the best.

For overseas spend, you get x10 UNIRM and if you purchase airline ticket, you get x5 UNIRM. Lounge access is x8 per calendar year. Before you come back to Malaysia, be sure to make 3 retail spends (valid 30 days) keep the receipts and get a cab ride home (read T&C for details).

For lounge availability:
Taiwan: Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport - Plaza Premium at Zone A (T2), A1 (T2), C (T1) and D (T1) - international departures
Malaysia: both KLIA and KLIA 2 (check T&C for details)

Btw: not sure if its the same, aside from Plaza Premium, UOB has a dedicated private lounge in KLIA 1. Can give it a go. Haven't had a chance to fly international. doh.gif

Downsides?
According to latest UOB forum thread SST no longer waivable, not sure if its the same for annual fee (RM 600).
Miles conversion is 9K UNRIM to 1K = Airasia, Asia Miles, KrisFlyer and Enrich

If you can apply for the Zenith card, you can use the points collected for UOB Privi Miles Elite and convert using Zenith, which will be 6.4K UNRIM to 1K miles.

you might need multiple cards

- Alliance Visa Signature
- RHB Shell
- CIMB Petronas Visa Infinite
- Maybank 2 Card AMEX

Ok, let me try to apply the Alliance Visa Signature

For this "CIMB Petronas Visa Infinite", or should I take this or the CIMB Travel Platinum card?

Which credit card provides cashback for overseas spending? Or I should just stick to WISE card for better rates?

Barricade not a credit card but GX Bank doesn't charge fee on top of Mastercard rates. and there's unlimited 1% cashback

enjoy while it lasts. i foresee wise card will be in cold storage for some time

If you spend 100K on furniture, couple of things you need to bear in mind:

(a) will you be going for an easy payment scheme/ installment plan?
(b) prepaid credit card (i.e. you put money into your credit card in anticipation of a purchase because it exceed your credit limit)
© does payment involve JomPay?; or
(d) does payment involve FPX?

If your answer for (a), (b) , © or (d) are yes, very likely you will not receive any points for such arrangement. There are some cards that allow © or (d) but point collection maybe minimal i.e. RM 1 to 1 point. Check the fine print.

If you plan to buy furniture, assuming your credit limit is greater than RM 100K and you have informed your bank in advance, likely the transaction will go through and typically the local retail spend for point collection does not come with any capping.

Also, Airmiles you have to consider what type of airline you are collecting. Some credit cards like Hong Leong Visa Infinite is only tied to Enrich but other cards like CIMB World Travel Card has 11 airlines to pick from.

If you always travel with Malaysia Airlines, you may consider AmBank Enrich (coming soon) to enter MAS Golden Lounge. Annual Fee RM500 for unlimited entry (VI), no AF for platinum but 4x entry only.

You may check with CIMB Card Centre, it may be possible to convert your CIMB credit line (terminate your VI) to CIMB Islamic credit line for CIMB Islamic Petronas Visa Infinite (4x PPL/year, no spending required)

RHB Visa Signature / World Mastercard: 6x (spending required)
Public Bank Visa Infinite: 3x
