1. Annual Income: RM78K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably free for life or reasonable AF based on current annual income level

3. Card required for: Cash Back / Rebate > Air Miles > PPL

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank FCB and Maybank 2 Cards AMEX Platinum

5. Interested in CC from: None in particular, need recommendations that are better than what I'm using now.

6. Others: Consistent spending about RM1k per month for 2 households (utilities mainly).

1. Annual Income: approximately RM75K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Free or waivable without high annual spending requirements (below RM30k should be possible)

3. Card required for: Travel miles, lounge access (not very important as I'm based in Penang)

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank2card AMEX + Maybank FCB card

5. Interested in CC from: None in particular

6. Others: Since the cash back reward from my existing maybank cards are no longer good (due to own spending pattern/habit and other restrictions) , I plan to shift all my spendings (where possible) to the new card to maximise the rewards. However, I'm not really a frequent traveller (around 1 overseas trip per year since last year).

Alliance visa infinite.

Just fyi maybank amex still the go to recommendations i give to friends who asked ne for advice. It's the simplest to use. There are many things i pay with amex.
Rm30 for visa, rm30 for master. Both are independent.

The cashback for both cards are under separate category.

tbh I will still stick with AMEX since the TreatPoints can be exchanged for air miles ...

just that the darn FCB card is useless and I want to have a substitute for it (preferably compatible with Apple Pay)

Hi guys, need your latest credit cards recommendations based on criteria/info below.

Thanks in advance!

1. Annual Income: RM100K & above

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: No

3. Card required for: Cash back / air miles

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank2card AMEX Platinum & Maybank FCB Visa Signature only

5. Interested in CC from: Any bank (preferably support Apple Pay)

6. Others: Most of my fixed monthly spendings are for utilities, i.e. Astro, TNB, Unifi, which is about RM500-RM700. Petrol is probably about RM200 per month. The rest (floating amount) would be for food & entertainment (through Apple Pay, TNG or MAE).

RHB-Shell Visa or Visa-i

i looked at the card this morning but sadly I can't fulfill the 2.5k spendings per month.

At most I can only reach middle tier and it is just barely an improvement from my current cash back from AMEX cry.gif

my TNG reload is mainly for parking (RM200) and food (transfer to individual for lunch box order, not business). I'm not sure if I can use other way to cover this ...

or RHB Shell Visa is the only way ...

no more cash back room from Amex?
your shell station does not support Amex or difficult to schedule refilling during weekend?
unifi/maxis should also be utilised with Amex
then affin duo for TNG + TNB
*
I can't get much cash back from AMEX because TNG / TNG is the main bulk of my current monthly expenses ...

Hi Sifu-sifu, if my spends is mostly local (dining, grocery, online Shopee), what card is best for collecting airmiles?

I saw many travel cards give high rebate (like UOB / CIMB) for oversea spend, but my spending habits are still locals in Malaysia..... any card i should consider?

Thanks~

air miles conversion is like shit now, especially for local spend ....

thank you.

while in malaysia, will mostly fly using MAS so i guess enrich points better. flying to taiwan and us for this 1 year period. so i think the uob lounge access have more options.

CIMB actually has more access to lounges worldwide compared to UOB ... if you can qualify for CIMB Petronas VI, you should apply as well since it's free for life and has 4x lounge access (I think) per year with no strings attached.
