QUOTE(hello_hello @ Nov 16 2017, 03:55 PM)
Hi,

Tried to apply for CC but rejected.
I am self employed and declared my income tax too.
Based on income tax my monthly income about RM 4000.
PTPTN Loan was restructured on April 2017 and did not missed the installment since April 2017.
Checked my CCRIS for PTPTN, it appeared 0 0 0 0 (which means i pay on time)
At the same time, i do contribute EPF (on own) RM 200 per month.

Any reason why my application was failed?
The banker said my record was too clean as I dont have any car/house loan except PTPTN

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must, but if lets say the bank offers XX swipe per year then its waived (thats fine too because i'll definitely be swiping more than 15-20 times)

3. Card required for: Online shopping, petrol, groceries, miscellaneous shopping -> clothing, gadgets, literally anything applicable for swiping

4. Existing credit cards (if any):

5. Interested in CC from: Unsure, any recommendation?

both of them seems quite similar to me in terms of benefits. Mbb is amex + master card while pbb is visa + master

any specific reason that I should go for either of them?
*
they are suited for different needs. i would recommend that you go for both of them, since there is no annual fee.

But the max cashback per month is only RM50 for this Fortune Card.

Think about the yearly bonus , up to 1,800 + FD interest for the 50 you get every month (12 x 50 = 600).

hmmm sounds troublesome... so the best I could do is with 1% with the Amex cash back credit card hmmm.... what about points? any good card with points? HSBC VS? but only Citibank, Amex and Alliance bank got evergreen points sad.gif
*
for big amount expenditure, HLB Fortune will be the champ, since there will be an annual bonus up to RM1,800 in addition to the 1% you get monthly.
