Even you get iphone from other countries (UK for an example), i'm sure it will contract with other network operator. That's mean you need to unlock. And even you can get underwater set, it's just like AP set in mobile world. But for iphone, it different case here. For me, i don't dare get such iphone Just my 2bit here

Granted Mots/SEs/Nokias are a piece of cake to unlock nowadays, but I have full faith in those crazy phone hackers in LYP/Sg Wang to crack the iPhone soon after its release.

I'm definately looking at the iPhone as my next purchase..... but will see if they announce a 3G version.... then will have to wait for that one. I'm just praying they throw in GPS.... imagine using google maps with THAT!

At the moment..... my trusty S.E. Z800i will have to hold me until then..... unless my wallet gets itchy and forks out for a Walkman phone!

are u sure??most of pda-phone even smart phone have wifi ready.in some cases wifi is better than 3G but i rather to have 3G than WiFi.why?what place are u going to use a wifi?hotspot?when there is a hotspot signal?? percentage of having 3G coverage also high right?

i won't buy IPHONE since it's don't have 3G and GPS (not very important for me.at least for now)

phone hackers in LYP/Sg Wang? are you sure? they use program/hack/services provided by developer/hacker originate from europe/Russia, not that they do it themselves.

i agreed with allvin this time. most probably it will be contracted/branded/locked to some telco in uk. most probably vodafone as always. not 100% sure yet but i stay in uk, hence that is my speculation. somemore, there is rumour going around that apple had already started to look for telco for the iphone in europe now.

so if it is branded/locked and contracted to some network, it really need time to crack and unlock it. and as always, apple stuff is not that easy to be cracked and it is the first phone by apple, no previous experience on apple phone by those hacker/developer etc, it gonna be long. and by the time it can be unlocked (maybe), iphone has reached asia for long. (e.g. most nokia bb5 platform, cant be unlocked yet until now)

Look at ipod, kl is the most expensive in the region. Anytime think of this, will scrap the idea of getting a device actually is affordable but being jacked up by local dealers/tax.
