Anyone else here has PBB Islamic bank FD? I went online at pbebank to check my FD cert details. Screen shows all conventional FD certs but not the islamic FD. I have the cert but it doesn't show on the FD enquiry screen.
Should I be worried? or is it normal? This post has been edited by okuribito: Apr 26 2018, 08:26 PM |

QUOTE(Cookie101 @ Apr 26 2018, 10:24 PM) You can choose not to activate. Thanks. I'll ask them when i'm next at the branchThat’s perfectly fine. Their task is to pitch. That’s normal. You need to ask them to link to your customer profile. Or you can try to link it yourself but normally won’t work. QUOTE(Nom-el @ Apr 27 2018, 01:38 PM) Tarak. Ilek. Mei you. Nada When I login, I get the 9 choice matrix. Only 2 possible choices - Account and Investment. So I click Account & then Islamic Term Deposit. It says "You do not have the relevant account. Click here to open one." But when I click Account & then Fixed Deposit, I see my conventional FD there When I click Investment & Islamic Deposit, it takes me to a placement screen ie to make new deposit. Nut no status of existing Deposits |

TQ for headsup. Free luggage for all maturities? If got say RM20K, can make 4 placements and get 4 luggage? Anyone tried ?
Anyway 9m 4.28%, 12m 4.3% only 0.02% diff. Why 12m FD rates in the market not higher ~ 4.4% PS: Last time, IIRC forummers reported must open savings account first, wait few days then only can place FD? Still the same now? This post has been edited by okuribito: Apr 30 2018, 12:23 PM |

QUOTE(okuribito @ Apr 24 2018, 06:29 PM) Anyone remember the 4.88% 6m HLB special last year? 3rd Nov, Page 209 of this thread Wondering what's my options for moving the money out to other banks. Do I have to uplift it online & trsfr to my savings account online? Of can I go to nearest branch & do over the counter? Banker's cheque possible? Hope Ambank 4.4% masih ada next thursday QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Apr 25 2018, 02:30 PM) Thx aeiou228. Unfortunately, cannot withdraw online. It was not set up as an e-fd by the DC branch ppl. So I need to go to a branch to do OTC. Any others in same situation today? |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ May 3 2018, 12:00 PM) Your 4.88% 6 mths wasn't an eFD ? I thought you mentioned it in your Apr 24th post that it is a no-cert eFD? Sorry I was careless initial post. Today I went online happily thinking I can withdraw to my savings. Then go branch get my cheque. But...Normally, eFD can only be uplifted via internet banking and same goes to OTC FD can only be uplifted OTC. I haven't come across any bank that can offer cross eFD/OTC FD withdrawal. Someone claimed that his OCBC OTC FD can be uplifted via internet banking, I tried to do the same but to no avail. 1) open list of FD & thinking like other banks can click on the cert & choose withdraw. Lo & behold cannot click on fd cert 2) chat with their AI bot, told me to go to "Apply" button... wtf has that to do with FD withdrawal? LOL so not intuitive 3) click "Apply" buttton, click withdraw but only got my eFD previously placed online eg the monthly payday offer BUT my 4.88 cert not there So I look carefully... yalor not eFD. Anyway planned to go get banker cheque & walk across to 4.4% bank haha... so do all OTC Yup I agree only eFD can be withdrawn online. OTC must be OTC. The special 4.88 case dunno what category because when placed they made us go thru some online screeen ... but cannot wdraw online. Saving grace, can do OTC at any branch This post has been edited by okuribito: May 3 2018, 03:52 PM |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jan 9 2019, 02:06 PM) It's just a clause that banks usually put to protect themselves, in case sudden BLR changes or what naught. Once you put in FD, the effective rate is 4.65% p.a. locked. Can ask for no annual fee BSA?No need open account earlier, you can bring cheque book. On the spot same hour to open new account, create FD, and collect cert with same effective date. |

QUOTE(frostfrench @ Jan 11 2019, 03:59 PM) every 3 mths u get the credit. At the same time, you can choose to continue for the next step up rate or withdraw. If you withdraw, whatever credited to your savings is yours to keep, no penalty. If u withdraw say in the 8th month, u will have been paid 2 times interest but for the 7th & 8th month you get nothing. That's what the officer explain to me... same as the old PBB stepup |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jan 12 2019, 02:01 PM) Yes, can without ATM card also. But I think is different term (not BSA) in Islamic banking terms. I must be lucky. I got ATM card with BSA. Maybe the staff screwed up.but he said max dunno how many times can use the card pmth 😁But problem without ATM card is, cannot generate PIN, hence no online banking. Have to manual update passbook. |

cybpsych Thanks for sharing. Never knew about the day of week format feature till now hahaha
Everybody has diff approach. For me, the maturity date is fixed by bank on the cert - so I just enter that date instead of calculating it with formula. That date is important - i use it to sort / filter upcoming maturities Can I ask what AP-AR denotes? I can only guess that it is your way of classifying the characteristics of the FD deal (deal hunter has his own cryptic code as well hahaha) |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Mar 23 2019, 09:46 AM) nobody mention here doesnt mean nobody put. Last time got - i went for their step up promo few years back. PBB is good if invest in their shares. But not as depositor imho.rates as usual just so-so, 4.0% for 12mth. of course most prefer higher rate. pbb hardly been in the top promo rate anyway. |

QUOTE(lowya @ May 7 2019, 11:29 PM) if someone reached the second step can exchange FD cert to confirm that, at least to mitigate some risk. when pbb had their stepup FD, they printed all the stepup rates & dates at the back of the cert. But not this Go7 islamic term deposit. No way to "mitigate some risk" imho. At their mercy. The 2nd rate per brochure is 3.9% - let's say they give u 3.85% when due in June. What can u do? Premature withdraw? They'll claw back interest paid earlier. Hope they'll stick to the rates they advertised all along. And I think they will. If they don't, they'll only give themselves bad rep |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ May 14 2019, 08:20 AM) BI do have priority banking. 100k and above. I am sure u are qualified. 100k is pretty low They said they are submitting my name about 2 or 3 months ago. Did not hear anything after that. Anyway to me not important as only FD placement. the branch i went, no need to ask they dated the cert nicely but collect 2 days later. Only thing i dun like is the cert say matang in 3 mths time LOL |

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Jun 10 2019, 06:24 PM) Now highest is 4.4% so i just go for B islam. Which branch u went? My friend went pj s14 branch kawtim in 2hours... But say ask so many questions like pdrm 😂Bank islam 4.4% FD limit 250k, above that must call HQ for approval. if you bring a banker cheque >250k you had it, unable to do FD same day Silly system, HQ should give approval and proceed same day |
