u cant open internet banking without SA. i tried that many times for using PBB credit card, die die need to open SA so that PBe internet banking can be linked to it

this is a confusing/misleading step-up FD. always from PBB.

read the 1st line of the T&C. the effective rate is stated. use this effective rate to calculate your expected return. no need to trouble yourself to calculate EACH step-up month.

SA required for PBe internet banking. not for FD.

you asked to check FD online, that question i'm not sure. i was curious too because my parents' PBe accounts doesnt display their OTC FD placements (cert-based).

ahh thanks guys for the info.

not interested to peek my parents' FD they prefer keep physical certs, old school "guarantee safe" thinking.

i just manages their PBe in order to manage PBB supp cards that i applied for them

yes! it's to mislead old ppl (and noobs) to deposit more money without knowing the actual return.

how did banks circumvent their tactics? put/hide/small-size text of the effective rate.

BNM satisfied (aka close one eye) since info is put upfront. but old ppl cant read much or understand english or with poor eyesight, can only see BIG BIG the "7.28%" and "6.28%" number.

everytime pbb come out with their step-up, my parents jumping with joy of the new "high rate". i told them, fat chance, effective rate is much much lower

hmmm, pbb tweaked the rate ...

yes, it's stated in the 1st line of the T&C.

previously in Aug, we got to know 1 day early too

well, i like how hlb efd payday works, they announce few days early, then effective placement in 7 days following month.

good for us to do planning, either to place or to jump somewhere else. dont have to linger until 1 Nov to find out.

FYI, if not mistaken, all banks have a new cheque clearance and availability.

it'd be a gamble since we wouldnt know if fund size already met.

btw, is it within comfortable walking distance from MRT Pusat Bandar Damansara?
