Bank Islam named Malaysia's strongest Islamic retail bank

user posted image

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 20): Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd has been named as Malaysia's strongest Islamic retail bank for 2020 by the Cambridge International Financial Advisory (Cambridge IFA) at the sixth Islamic Retail Banking Award 2020, held virtually on Dec 15, 2020.

In a statement today, Bank Islam said this was the second time that it received the award, which it won for the first time back in 2015.

Chief executive officer Mohd Muazzam Mohamed said the title demonstrates the bank's readiness to become the first and only listed Islamic bank in Malaysia and the region.

does it  mean BANK ISMAL will give higher FD Rate soon?
*
Somebody mentioned BI cheated the printed rate on the FD certicate.
Well, the article shows that BI has strong financial backing for not doing so.

CPI down 1.7% y-o-y in November

PETALING JAYA: The surge in Covid-19 cases over the past month has resulted in a pullback of Malaysia’s consumer price index (CPI) in November.

The CPI declined 1.7% year-on-year (y-o-y) last month to 120 points compared with 122.1 points in November 2019.

It was a slight contraction compared with October which recorded 120.2 points or a 1.5% decline y-o-y.

The decrease was attributed to the decline in transport (-11.1%), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-3.3%), clothing and footwear (-0.5%) and furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.1%), which contributed 45.7% to the overall weight.

Chief statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin (pic below) said 334 out of 552 items recorded an increase in November 2020 compared with November 2019.

Guess that they'll be no rush for hiking the OPR sooner.

Maybe CIMB is expecting an OPR cut from 7 to 12 months from the campaign.

FPX limit can be set in respective Internet Banking portal.

FPX daily limit is restricted by the outgoing bank limit.

Fresh fund must come from other banks via FPX.

Every bank should have imposed daily limit for FPX. The common daily limit could be either RM 30k/50k.
