Affin Bank also can be considered. Except the 4.3% is for 2 years and for selected branch only, min 80k.  biggrin.gif
*
Confirmed Muamalat only left 4.3% 12 months min 100k from the branch manager.

For Affin, there's some confusion on my end. Affin Islamic bank is 4.25% for 24 months with interest credited every 6 months but with HQ approval & RM 100k, 3%
For the Affin bank outlet, is 4.3% 24 months min RM 50k. tongue.gif

For Affin, my earlier post did say could ask if 50k and above for the 24 mth 4.3% deal. But the official answer is 80k and above for the deal.  tongue.gif

"but with HQ approval & RM 100k, 3%", u mean 4.3% ?? The branch that told me also said interest every 6 mths, as I reported >2 weeks ago. But I did not ask whether it is Islamic or conventional FD.  biggrin.gif

See some big shot said about Bank Muamalat's 4.5% deal ?  brows.gif Same as I said, can get 4.5% with approval.  devil.gif
*
My bad, is supposed to be RM 100k & above only can get 4.3% with HQ approval.
I don't know why for Affin, Islamic seems to be lower rate than conventional. The last time I went to the Affin Islamic bank, they even mentioned there was no such promo rate of 4.3%.

notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif I see many UUHNW individuals here. Unfortunately, I don't have soo much $$ to apply for 4.5% Muamalat

want to go for 24 months - 4.25%p.a. in affin. but then felt like 24 months is too long, maybe some other banks will come out 4.25% but 12 months only
*
Just got back from Affin Bank outlet, RM50k confirmed can get 4.3% for 24 months with interest credited every 6 months & can split into multiple certs (heard from another customer)
Another outlet which was Affin Islamic said minimum RM100k

QUOTE(Vizhai @ Jun 29 2017, 12:40 PM)
Hi everyone. i want share that i just put 50K for 24 months 4.3%.
The thing is i the interest i can get is after 2 years.

I want ask that is anyone try get the interst 6 months or 1 year?
*
Both Affin outlets I went to said can get interest every 6 months, maybe you need to say "A friend of mine could get interest every 6 months" tongue.gif

I see that u are another UUHNWI here as well !  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

One of my relative placed for 4.5% 12 mth FD in Bank Muamalat today. Even "booked" for another 4.5% FD tomorrow.  biggrin.gif

*
I guess for Klang Valley as always, they not willing to budge unless I can boldly say I got RM 700k to place as FD loose change thumbup.gif

Some newspaper on two 0.25% OPR raises before end of this year. Wonder if the newspaper report mixed up US and Malaysia?
*
It should be a chain reaction, If US increases, Malaysia has to increase else we won't get anymore FDI.

In Affin to uplift FD of 4.5%. The officer was trying to ask me to stayput the FD. Called the manager out. He said their best offer is 24 mth 4.3%. Similar to what I has reported before. But the offer was in selected branch only and this branch is not included. So the 4.3% is by approval only.

Anyway still uplift the FD. Moved to AmBank for 12 mth 4.2%. Have not been there for quite some time already. But still has FD 4.5%, 4.55% and 4.6% still running !  rclxms.gif

AmBank seems to have upgraded their system. Finished within 12 minutes including signing up for their free Visa Infinite card !
Last time it took like 20 to 30 minutes to place and collect FD cert !!  biggrin.gif
*
Finally you joined the Ambank priority banking club eh rclxms.gif
I got a passport holder / luggage tag & cerruti pen
Did you have to show any income documents to get the Visa Infinite card?
ps. If you spend RM30k a year on the card, Hilton premier club is free also.

QUOTE(Kamen Rider @ Jul 4 2017, 08:18 PM)
some question here you mean to qualify priority customer , you need to put in 200k in CASA and then only can can place another amount into FD that can enjoy 4.2%, then it will be wasted with 200k sitting in CASA....

are we allow to put some minimum amount in to CASA e.g. RM10, then move the 200k to FD to enjoy the 4.2%.... as I always confuse with the premier banking, priority banking, ...as need to park certain amount of money in CASA, only can be called or categorized into this special privilege, but my doubt that putting this big amount not enjoying the FD rate, then no point to get a special offer FD with that so called high FD interest rate....
mind to share some info, as i never have the chance to become one this special member ....so not so sure what is the story about
*
You can ask Ambank, but for CIMB, the RM250k to be eligible for preferred status also enjoyed the preferred FD promotion rate.

Went to finally close my SCB account but unfortunately no new FD promos in sight.
1 year 3.95% but must be bundled with insurance or investment products.

I hope 1 or 2 months later they don't come out with a promo else wasted my effort to close the account.

2 yrs ago, SCB set the stage for 4.5% 15 mth FD. Some of us have joined them. But after that no more significant FD promo from them.

I cancelled their PB to avoid charges. Then now my JustOne acct suspended due to inactivity ! Luckily only have RM1 per acct there.  laugh.gif

Looking fwd to their new FD promo, if any !  biggrin.gif
*
This month my account will be suspended too if I do not perform any transaction, so might as well close it.
Service is still bad, only 1 teller so took me about half an hour even though i was 2nd in line & it only took 5 mins to close it. mad.gif

If they have similar promos to other banks, i'll go for other banks but if the promo is too good to resist, like 4.5%, then no choice la tongue.gif

Statement from UOBM contains the following:-

Common Reporting Standard (CRS)

From 1 July 17, UOB Malaysia will be required to collect and report customer's financial account information to IRB Malaysia to comply with CRS. For opening of account from 1 July 17 onwards customers need to declare tax information. Please refer to the OECD website for more details on CRS.
*
Based on the details I read, it seems to be more for compiling non-resident's tax & financial information. Hope is not an excuse for them to further check if anyone is evading tax. sweat.gif

Should have kept RM10 in my SCB account then just in case for future FD promos. cry.gif cry.gif

Haha, now u regret closing the SCB accounts. I was thinking of letting it go instead of going to SCB to activate it. Waste of effort going there if not going to place FD anymore.  biggrin.gif

Last time when I opened FD in OCBC in March 2015, OCBC RM (I went straight to their PB centre), Googled my name !! I asked and she said it is their procedure. She then printed out the result and attached to the application forms !!  laugh.gif
*
I thought about it for quite a long time as when I said
"I hope 1 or 2 months later they don't come out with a promo else wasted my effort to close the account."

The last time it really happened, 1 or 2 months later, SCB really came out with a good promo! So this is already the 2nd time I'm opening & closing their account.

The other day when I went for Affin Bank's 4.3% FD promo at another branch, it was similar to opening a new account, including checking if I was on the US blacklist! biggrin.gif

QUOTE(plumberly @ Sep 16 2017, 08:49 AM)
Thanks.

I have some Aust$ left downunder for years now. Thought of transferring that to a foreign FD here.

Thought in the past, saw really attractive foreign FD rates. But checked the web, now <2% rates!

Can transfer back to RM with higher rate. But for sentimental, I still have some Aus$ mentality, etc etc, reluctant to transfer out.

So a foreign FD will allow me to keep the Aust$ and get a higher rate (not really now).

Thanks.
*
I have the same opinion as you about AUD, I have kept mine for maybe about 8 years during the times when the interest rates were way higher than Malaysia's.
But I have given up hope on the interest rates recovering, so fortunately a banker recommended me to directly over to AUD UT (Global Multi-Asset Income) which since gave me some pretty good profits.

Over the years, lots of restrictions have been placed on currency, previously I could deposit AUD & withdraw in AUD but after a while, could not withdraw, then now, cannot even deposit in AUD (UOB Bank) so it seems the foreign currency account is only either for sending overseas or trading.

AmBank:
Till end of the week:
12 mth 4.2%
6 mth 4%

Muamalat: No promo for now
*
On my end, apparently 3-Oct onwards till end of the week the promo rate for 12 months is 4.15%, RM 50k & above for priority banking customers.

Had a bad experience today trying to online transfer from RHB to Ambank, the RHB Secure Now App kept giving me the wrong OTP until the transfer function got locked out so end up I had to withdraw cash! And, I think RHB is one of the only banks to still have a maximum transfer limit of only RM 30k.
Not just that, customer service is really bad, uplift FD, take one number, but I wanted to withdraw money at the same time, ask me to take another number & fill up form.

The AmBank seems to review their FD promo daily or weekly basis.  tongue.gif Thats why initially they told me for "today only" then the ABM WhatsApp me that it is until end of the week.

Though I am their PB, the promo rate quoted earlier is for min 10k only. Last week the ABM said the "last 3 days" promo is min 50k.

I think u can go and nego with them on getting 4.2%.  biggrin.gif
*
ok thanks. I hope the promo continues till end of the month though, the previous ambank 4.6% 2 years promo maturing then.

Another caution, banks don't like to accept 50K & above cash due to BNM's requirement of reporting purposes

Am bank promo applies to top up as well. Those who placed two years ago at 4.6% and mature now can get waive on the fresh fund rule.
*
Ambank is quite relaxed on the fresh fund rule anyway, as long as you have some fresh funds, you can also top up with existing funds. The staff at the branch I go to have been there for years so is easy dealing with them.

In RHB to terminate FD. The counter girl asked if I want to take up the 11 mth 4.15%. Said no and did RENTAS which cost me RM5.30. RHB slow slow, still did not improve much.  doh.gif

If anything, RHB became worse! vmad.gif mad.gif
I reported my online transfer issue on Monday & they promised to solve it on that day itself but until today still error!!! I think I will have to resort to Facebook to complain about them....

Today moved out dough from HL's FD (4% with add'l bonus of 0.1%). Went to AmBank to place for 4.2% FD.

AmBank new system is much better than before. Only 10 minutes kaotim and got the FD cert, as compared to over 20/25 minutes few years back. Even received an SMS asking me to rate their service.  thumbsup.gif

Ambank is exceptionally friendly & chatty these days. The other day the teller told me these days, they are going paperless & require less issuing of cheques but he said he is not sure how large amounts of money can be transferred without going to the bank & issuing a cheque...

True, maybe that is also in the works but for now they did inform me no auto-closing of FD since we need to surrender the cert upon closing of FD.

I do for sure know AmBank no more 4.3%. Did a withdrawal from AmBank this morning and went to place at HL for 4.3%. If AmBank still has 4.3%, would not be doing that already.  laugh.gif

But in fact since last week, AmBank already stopped the 4.3% 12 mth FD.  biggrin.gif We have to play catch up on FD promo's.  brows.gif

I just checked yesterday, Ambank is offering 4.25% for 12 months minimum 50k until 14 January.

BC RM0.68.  rclxms.gif

HL 12 mth 4.3% until end Feb or until they cancelled it. HL has been competitive on and off just like AmBank.

For MBB if u get BC from FD, only RM0.53. RENTAS I think they charge RM9 if I remember it correctly.  biggrin.gif
*
Unfortunately, it is RM 5 even for BC
http://www.maybank2u.com.my/en/personal/de...nking-fees.page?

This rate for this MBB FD maturing was not that good either, 4% for 12 months.

I placed for MBB 15 mth eff rate 4.3% in Dec. But this promo has ended. So recently HL is the hot one.  biggrin.gif
