Normally big amount was more the. 50k in my situation ...My branch manager offer 3.38 for the last two week for fund 50k.evn last week rm20k mature fund also manage to renew on 3.38%.probally you branch manager is less helpful for this situation
*
I managed to get 4.38% without any issues though the teller asked me who I got the rate from. I was targeting for 4.4%.

QUOTE(siawyent @ Mar 9 2018, 04:32 PM)
Awaiting for next Monday Ambank rate, I got 1 maturing on Monday.

Dear all, pls post the updates if any, thanks in advance.
*
If you open the FD on Monday, you should still be able to get 4.38%, so far usually for Ambank, whatever new rate declared will only take effect from Tuesday to the following week's Monday.

Heard need to open savings account for this FD, can I open savings with internet banking but do not want the debit card?
*
Yes, 4.38% requires CASA as they will debit the account with the interest upon maturity.
However, not sure if possible to have internet banking without debit card.

Actually FD at CIMB is always unfixed. The 4.2% usually only for fresh funds, but can nego. "unfixed" means that you will get interest if you withdraw early (but not in the first 3 month!). Then you will still get half of the interest rate (2.1%).
Yes they will. But as it is not fresh funds only with 4.1 instead of 4.2%
*
the 4.2% for 12 months i got was not for fresh funds, I got it by renewing my FD there.

puke.gif The branch I went was AmBank @ PJ New Town, all the tellers said no such promo despite I multiple confirm with them, they don't feel like entertain me if I don't have 100k doh.gif Nvm, already done it with other bank despite slightly lower rate.
*
You could try SS2 branch as I got the promo rate from there, alternatively Taman Tun or Damansara Utama branch.

Was in Bank Muamalat 2 days ago to uplift my FD. Only promo given was 4.1% 12 months which requires HQ approval.

Tried to use IBG over the counter but was informed limit is only RM10k, so had to use RENTAS which costs RM5.

Did U ask for cheque ? For my last Muamalat FD, going to ask for cheque instead of Rentas. Your Rentas take how long to reach the other bank ?

*
I was offered cheque but was afraid the it may take a few days to be cleared as I need to use the money the next day.
I reached the bank late, about 3.10pm so they said cannot make it in time for the same day Rentas, that's why I asked about IBG which they said limit is 10k OTC, not sure how far it's true, first time hear OTC transaction limit so low!
So in the end, I only got the funds early next morning.

As some of the forummer here, the branch that I used said can only do Rentas.  ranting.gif So now I know they do offer cheque.

IBG OTC limit should be in few hundred k at least (500k maybe). 10k is way too low, maybe true for a bank like Muamalat.  tongue.gif

QUOTE(Deal Hunter @ Jun 7 2018, 07:41 PM)
Kena tipu or misunderstanding? The 10k daily limit is for ATM or Internet Banking.
Best do not ever say OTC IBG but say OTC transfer to other bank (interbank).
Staff may simply look up their IBG mentions and if not careful to look closely and everywhere, can easily give you wrong answer quickly.

Bank staff may not be aware that Internet Banking allows you to set up to maximum daily transfer limit of 30k if they depend on reading FAQ and have no experience or access to Bank Muamalat's internet banking through an account. It is 10 sen for IBG and 50 sen for IBFT. The bank needs to improve their FAQ explanation to avoid confusing mistakes like this.

When you do OTC, it means you are there with your IC and thumbprint in person so that bank very sure nothing fishy or underhand going on like through
ATM or Internet. You have the right to withdraw or transfer any amount from your available fund when you are present at a bank. If cash, they may be short of big amount and ask customer to make booking or come later to collect. The difference between RENTAS and OTC interbank transfer is the so called speed and the fees charged.

To avoid possible delays it is always a good idea to do such OTC interbank transfers and RENTAS as early as possible in the morning. After 11 am RENTAS get shaky and in the afternoon, even more shaky. By 3 pm, you might as well give up for the day and expect next business day. After 11 am it is too late to do OTC interbank transfer to the target bank for the same day for FD placement. This is just the usual SOP for same day OTC FD operation, but the SOP timing for FD placement through  personal cheque, eFD, FPX are of course different although all these are just simple applications of the IBG timing schedules.
Are You misunderstanding?
*
Looking at all the different options given at different branches, I believe there is just no proper SOP at Bank Muamalat.

Definitely no misunderstanding about OTC IBG as I asked the teller a few times. At first he said 100k is the limit for IBG while no limit for RENTAS. So i asked him to double confirm as since I know is late, might as well just do IBG, then he said will try to push for RENTAS instead. Then the next time he came back to me he said too late to do RENTAS and IBG limit is only 10k, I even commented, how come Over the Counter limit so low? He said is set like this.

Bank Rakyat 4.5% for 11 months is confirmed still available, placed it today.
Their calendar / diary may only be out in December

Nego rate for 12 months is only 4.3% though.

From info received from BR, the 11 mth 4.5% is extended till end Dec. But I recently still go for the CIMB eFD 6 mth 4.5%.
*
QUOTE(cybpsych @ Nov 5 2018, 07:23 PM)
already extended to 31 Dec
*
Yes correct is until 31 December 2018 now.
Is quite a dilemma, CIMB eFD is very easy to open but it only lasts for 6 months while BR is for 11 months, almost double the tenure.

QUOTE(Afterburner1.0 @ Nov 7 2018, 11:55 AM)
BR looks good, but i heard BR needs 3 days to clear cheque, and u need to go back to the same branch again to collect your FD slip... is that true?
*
For my case, yes, they can only give the FD slip after the cheque is cleared, even for banker's cheque but the effective date is the date I bank in the cheque.
They can even post the slip to you if requested.
However, i don't mind going back there as there is free parking and coffee/tea at the Xclusive lounge.

Is the CIMB 12 mth 4.3% eFD with montly interest ?
*
Monthly interest? Don't think so, i think is just 4.3% for 12 months

Btw, my last year's 4.2% 12 months unfixed FD promo at CIMB was automatically renewed at 4% 12 months.
Just now when I asked OTC, they also said 4% 12 months promo only maybe for preferred banking.
When I told the teller i'll do it online they looked a bit surprised. brows.gif brows.gif

On the other hand when I placed affin online 4.4% 15 months, even overnight the FD is still not yet shown in my account. The support hotline said it may take up to 2 working days for it to be reflected, so slowww...

Latest update on Affin Bank online FD placement:
I placed the FD on Wednesday 17 April 8+pm but until just now Friday 19 April 5.30pm nothing is reflected so I called the branch to inquire why.
They mentioned only today it popup in their system (which I don't believe, more like they only checked when I called them! mad.gif mad.gif ) so I lost 2 days interest.

This will be the first and the last time I'm placing FD online for Affin.

Next week my CIMB eFD 6mths 4.5% FD maturing. Now have to face lower FD promo rates.

Last week, I have placed for HL 6 mth eFD 4.2%. Before that HL FD kosong already.  tongue.gif

If you don't mind 13 months FD, can still go for Affin Bank 4.4%.
However, the banker told eventhough you place it online it is still a manual process where I went there today to sign the FD slip, better just go to the branch to place it directly.
