I mean Affin Bank, not Alliance.

Alliance i don't think i'm eligible, i'm not their existing customer, i thought that promo is for selected customer and offer by bank through email ?
*
I don't think you can open account online for Affin Bank.
You need to go to their nearest branch.

They always got this wizard at Affin Online: https://www.affinonline.com/lead_gens?name=esaver
But I think you still need to complete at the branch.

went to alliance bank this morning, was told i had to bring payslip in order to open an fd account.
never bother visit this bank again
*
Under what justification they need such document?
You're not even applying for credit card/loan!
Don't submit to such request.

The only reason that I can think of is that your IC address is not within the area of service of that Alliance branch.

when i opened my BSA at PBB, the officer asked for my payslip - something like to fulfill KPI as to the purpose of opening bank account etc.
*
I never give my payslip to the banks for opening saving account especially for a merely BSA.
The most I give is employment letter or my company badge because of the conflict of the IC address and company area.

Payslip is normally needed if you want to open privileged account like PSA and CitiPriority/CitiGold.

Why previleged acc opening needed pay slip? What about those already filthy rich & doesn't work already? tongue.gif
*
They want to ensure that you have such income level to be a member for priority or privilege banking and maintain the membership.
Payslip is for employment people.
If you're self-employed or freelancer, you need to use other documents such as J form or B form.

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ May 22 2020, 04:18 PM)
no need kot. just transfer 250k in settle.
*
You still need to go through the account opening process.
If you bring RM 250k cash, they may reject you since your cash source is doubtful.
This could be only applicable for foreign banks like SC, Citi, HSBC, OCBC and UOB.

have been to ocbc inquiring about the maxsure2 product. it's not so straightforward as only depositing the money for the 3.9% return. it also requires monthly deposit of certain amount of money for 5 years etc..

Are you sure that you're not being invited to circle round the garden by the staff who served you to sell another policy attached to or on top of the MaxSure 2 plan?

Shouldn't be the MaxSure 2 plan is an independent plan by itself?

So it's a package instead of an individual plan?

"Accessory (Max Sure 2)" is not meant to be sold separately. dry.gif

Any non islamic fd promo? Im not eligible for islamic fd  sad.gif

That is eFD/eFD-i campaign for both conventional and Islamic banking.
It's tied to your saving account you have in Affin Online.
Mine is a Islamic BSA, so it'll be eFD-i.
Somebody was able to place using conventional saving account.

All my placements have acknowledgement slip sent to my registered email.
Perhaps you should check with Affin CS to verify your email address stored in Affin Online.

Human Nature,
I unable answer your questions, but the FD without penalty, before mature day you'll lose the all interest this is assumed partial withdraw all.
I think your FD printed date shown the mature day, in the same day, you can call the branch to check or ask, or if your have UOB online, when you saw last interest ready bank in to your account, I think matured, free to withdraw.

Also GrumpyNooby, if I not wrong even lose the UOB FD slip also not need report police, this is mean you only bring your IC also can OTC withdraw your FD, but avoid trouble just safe kept and bring it when time come. Others bank unable.

Now, UOB and others bank time operating is different.
*
The FD slip is not FD certificate; just an acknowledgement slip.
My maturity instruction for the FD-i that was placed last year OTC is to credit the amount into the nominated saving account.
I did ask if I can uplift the FD online. The cashier counter staff did say YES.

I was going through the terms of the Hong Leong eFD promo.

One of the terms says this:
Never used islamic eFD before, but if premature withdrawal does that mean will lose part of the principal amount?
*
If your interest is paid monthly or quarterly to a nominated CASA.

I don't think so ler. There needs to be an OTC transaction.

Refer here for Maybank
https://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/DormantAccount-FAQ.pdf

4. How do I prevent my account from turning dormant?
The simplest way is to ensure that there are some transactions
being made in your account i.e to withdraw or deposit some
money over the counter, even if it is a small amount.
*
Now what era, where got people still go to deposit or withdraw small amount at the counter.
The staff will piss you off by asking you to do it at the CDM/CRM/ATM or do online.

That's what the staff told me ler, even specifically need to withdraw cash so CDM doesn't count. I been dutifully doing it at UOB/OCBC/Ambank for few years already. You mean you guys don't do this at all and no dormant charge?
*
Obviously no for sure. Reference to Harimau Bank, Sotong Bank, Siti Bank, Affin and UOB.

The only account which I'm doubtful now is my BSN.
Not sure what is the status for that BSN account but every 2 to 3 months, I got do online interbank fund transfer into it.
