plug in. and whn i play fallout 4 with high settings, the fps is even under 30 bt is still playable..i dunno why..the temperature of cpu and gpu abt 70 and sometimes abt 72-74..very hot

72 to 74 is completely fine for 6700HQ /7700HQ and GTX1060 6GB GDDR5.

For the FPS, try setting "high performance" in nvidia control panel.

Depends on the resource utilization of the game, higher-end games will generate more heat and in turn, will increase the fan speed to combat the extra heat generated, kindly note.

Hi Adam,

It's 8C higher than our benchmark temperature. Which software you used to monitor the temperature? biggrin.gif

My z5 1060 temp depend on room temp. Cool room with aircond its stay 72 to 75. But no aircon room the temp will be 77 to 81. Usually i dont mind the temp. But seeing the upper keyboard feel really hot esp near the power button. Risau a bit

We placed the heatsink below the power button, that was why it's warmer than other area.

As long as your palm rest remains cold, it's fine.

I am looking for a new laptop for graphic/3d designer, i think i need a good graphic card, ram, cpu to run those designer software and load large drawing. Another important thing is screen color display must me real and accurate.

Many people recommended Mac Book, but I am more comfortable with Windows laptop.

End up i found all good graphic card laptop tag as gaming laptop, that is why I am here.

First question, is gaming laptop good to work as designer laptop?
Second, I am comparing Z5(because of cheaper) and S5X(because of lighter), targeting to equip gtx1060, any comment for using these 2 model as graphic design?

Hi xarive,

It's not recommended to raid the M.2 SATA and the SATA drives.

Does the Z5 have the Optimus GPU switching capability? Also, the aluminium finish differs a bit than Laguna's, am I right?

Hi nyhorikita57,

LAGUNA aluminum finish is the same as Z series. The bottom of Laguna is softtouch rubber finish.
