Wow.. was looking to buy a new gaming laptop and I was looking at what is available. But seems like ILLEGEAR has a lot of heating issues from the looks of this thread. My second option now is Alienware 13 R3.

Any good review about the Z5?

As per FB post, we will back in business on tomorrow.

There is no heating issue on the Z series, neither on all other series except one model - Q5 (Clevo N850HK and N850HK1), which is currently waiting Clevo to improve its heatsink.

The Z5/Z7 is capable to maintain the GPU GTX1060 temperature at below 70C in Battlefiled 1 twelve hours ultra gameplay, tested during IT Fair 2016 in Mid Valley.

As for the heating issues reported by the recent user kalmit95, we suspect the temperature reported by him was CPU temperature with Intel Turbo Boost enabled, we are still trying to contact him to send in his Z5 for checking and verification as there is no update from him after the post.

All the products have been tested in factory and retested by our engineers after customization to make sure the temperature is performing well before we deliver to our customers.

Same thing happened to me too. And I bought it for around 6 MONTHS ONLY, which is unacceptable! How can it spoil so fast? Poor QA? It seems many owners are facing this issue. Please advice.

All ILLEGEAR models come with 1 year battery warranty so if your battery does fail within 6 months, we are able to help to exchange for a new battery.

Let us know before you want to send in so we can have the battery ready for replacement immediately.

My Z5 are Haswell (GTX 860M). Same battery issue just right after the 2 years warranty. maximum charging up to 61% and no more. You still can use the laptop with plugged in anyway.
It's amazing how I spend RM 4k+ on a laptop and now the battery issues is bugging me just after 2 years+. No hard feelings just sharing.

im using cmstorm sf17. it futher reduces operating temp of cpu n gpu 5-10degrees on most AAA title games ultra mode after multiple hours n running on turbo boost fan mode on on my m*i brand lappy. really reconmend this baby.

nono.. im referring to a laptop cooler. from cooler master. im using it on my current gtx980m powered laptop.

Any review for Z5 on notebookcheck? It is the only review website/report that I trust before I buy a laptop.

Thats how I ended up buying RE-15 4 years ago. Old illegear user here looking to change a new one, last time i overlook some aspect for laptop but gonna make sure i dont miss it this time before i buy a new laptop.

sometime it does not response well. need to disable and enable using FN key.
