And another question tho, will this phone be getting Nougat anytime soon? Cos I'm planning to get one.

P2's OTAs chronicles:

S033_160919_ROW = Released from factory.
S048_161111_ROW = 1st OTA released on 9th December 2016.
S062_170117_ROW = 2nd OTA released on 24th January 2017

Hence...

S0xx_170317_ROW = 3rd OTA on 1st week of April...?

#OTA
*
S232_170320_ROW = 3rd OTA released on 28th March 2017 (Major Nougat Upgrade)

#OTA #Nougat

Next OTA hypothesis:

S2xx_1705yy_ROW = 4th OTA to be released on end of May 2017.

Sorry but I won't update yet... May be next month if all other user's feedback are positive...

Appreciate other P2a42 owners to give feedback on the latest OTA... I'll be staying with S062 to compare the differences...

Yea i have the new update as well, so dis is the Nougat update?
Ok so i would like to give a quick short review of dis P2 dat i bought during the weekend. Im stil using my current OPO but
frm the 3 days of playing wit it, dis is wat i feel about the phone.
Good
1. Battery life is AWESOME. I manage to get 10-12 h of SOT frm all the setting up, syncing, downloading, exporting n tranferring of media files to my new phone. Out of excitement i forgot to screenshot my batt usage but im sure results are aplenty frm the net.
2. AMOLED Screen. The love for the screen wasnt immediate, in fact when i first boot up the phone i felt the screen too saturated. White wasnt really white.. Felt like some lite greenish tint to it.. But then the more i use the more i felt my OPO screen dull. Nvr goin back to other display types.
3. Performance is quite snappy. Even my umobile coverage better than my OPO. Normally i get 1 bar on my OPO in my house but now 3 bar wit P2.

Bad
1. Yes, the aggressive noise cancellation is really hampering the voice recording experience in social apps like WhatsApp, but it can b easily remedy by using an external mic, eg. Using a earphone wit mic. I know dis is quite troublesome but stil a temporary solution.
2. Customisation. I appreciate the close to stock rom dat Lenovo has offered in the P2, but the lack of modern design themes offered in the so called Theme Center is appalling. Most of the choices (actually mayb like only 7 choices) are hideous, they look like they belong in gingerbread android.
3. UI bugs. Quite a few. Some notable ones : some of my widgets r not working properly like Shuttle+ music player widget did not response to my actions, Calendar app - Month was refreshing a few times. I suspect the " Background app management" setting could be the culprit but i need to dig deeper.
4. Camera. If u like mobile photography.. Stay away. Nuff said

Overall im happy n satisfied wit my P2. Most of the bad points like sucky camera doesn't t affect me much coz i hardly take photos wit my phone. Satisfaction lvl i rate 7.5/10 .

First impressions of nougat. It seems like noise cancelling issue is fixed. More testing tomorrow.

Ladies and gentelmen, a noise cancelling mic and YT issues are gone! Lenovo also added a blue-light filter to a Night Mode. The UI (main menu, notifications bar) looks a bit different, as the notifications. So far I am very happy with this update, but I will see of there are any new bugs (hopefully not). Tomorrow I'm going to test a camera as well; I will upload my foootage to my YT channel and still photos to the album. I see that Night Mode on stock camera app is still making not the sharpest photos- in Pro Mode with1/2 or 2/3 s shutter time quality is better- tested so far inside my bedroom.

I used screen mirroring a lot, now my supercast gets disconnections often, have to use Google Home now. The rest of my usage is good, surprised that Lenovo did a good job not like xiaomi always got problems with new updates

Still at the top followed by Xiaomi Redmi Note 4/4X with same Snap625... Galaxy A7 2017 is also quite impressive...

With the new Nougat update, that "149 hrs" should become "160 hrs"...LOL...

it might not be the case. nougat has more things running in the background, you'll might end up with a bit lower sot. but who knows, lenorola could pull some tricks and improve it instead.

That's great to hear.

Was putting off Lenovo P2 as my choice as I read about the mic canceling issue.

Do update us more about the new update. Thanks!

Hahaha. Yesza! Just set auto. And download any Rotate App. Then use that app to set POTRAIT. Problem solved!
