Hi guys,

Im planning to get the cc6 for my vios as I've juz passed the 3yr/60k mark on this current set.

Currently driving on cc5 which Im quite a fan due to comfort & noise. My drive are usually long distance and I can go up to 160km/h without much issue. My only concern I have is that occasional drive I have on curves / hills (ex. Karak highway) during rain. So far I do feel handling is abit off during rain, unless i go really slow. But its not so often.

So im thinking should I get wider tires? Currently on 185/60R15. Or any other better tires? Or maintain wt cc6?
Noise level is a priority due to the mundane long drives. 😆

I suggest you to go for UC6.. According to data, it beats or at least matches every aspect on the CC6.

The price is slightly higher but should be still cheaper than the Michelin XM2+.

I don't recommend the XM2+ because it is expensive due to their branding and perception of being a high end tyre. Their tyres are expensive probably because they spent a lot in marketing.

CC6 if noise is priority or xm2+. UC6 has higher grip than CC6 but its noisier.

I was previously using many Michelin tyres. Then, got bored with their late product renewal / improvement (don't want to use same thread pattern on my new tyres), I went to use many other tyre brands. Tried Pirelli P6, Continental MC5, Bridgestone & Toyo (can't remember the model) all went with some problem.

I tried Michelin again, and been using Michelin on all my vehicles now. It started with Primacy 4 and then XM2+ on my other car. My personal experience tells me that Michelin tyres are more expensive because they are really good at making tyres.

"Expensive" can be because we ask from wrong tyre shop. When I was shopping for XM2+, a Continental tyre shop quoted more expensive price for Continental equivalent tyres compared to XM2+ (than my usual tyre shop non-Michelin shop). Best to scout around before finalising the purchase.

Previously I was using the XM2. Initial feeling was good but after 1-2 years, it was the worst tire i had ever use.. it was hard and noisy like hell. That was when i decided to stop using Michelin and try other tyres. Suprisingly, after using CC6, the tyre is soft, comfortable and quiet. Beat every aspect from the more expensive XM2 except for wet grip.

I have no idea how the newer XM2+ performs but I don't think it differs a lot from the older XM2.

Agree with you that CC6 is softer, more comfortable and quieter than XM2 but isn't that the selling point of CC6 or any other softer tyres? Softer tyres obviously will be more comfortable and quieter than harder tyres like XM2. To say that CC6 is better than XM2 due to those reasons is unfair (similar to Perodua is better than Ferrari because it has lower fuel consumption).

IMO XM2 is superior than CC6 in aquaplaning, wet grip, dry grip and cornering.

So it depends on your priority whether you prefer noise, grip (wet and dry), rolling resistance, comfort etc. It is not helpful to put such a blanket statement simply because CC6 suites your priorities.

P/s: I personally have used XM2 and CC6, and I prefer CC6 as well as I prioritise comfort and quietness but I think XM2 (and XM2+) is a superior tyre, all things considered.

I do agree with you and our opinion on these 2 tyres are the same.

My next go to tyre will be UC6. Saw the comparison chart and it seems the UC6 wins over the CC6 in every aspect but only loses marginal in terms of quietness.

I haven't try it because there is still a lot of tread on my current tyres.

Since UC6 is considered 1 notch above CC6.. u can use it with confidence.

One more thing is Continental tyres are made in Malaysia. Better support local production than XM2+ which are made in Thailand.

I'm looking to change tyres for my Axia 175/65R14.

Looking at CC6 but found in Shopee selling ES32 in roughly the same price range ( difference less than RM10 per tyre ).

Mostly limited to city driving and low mileage.

Opinion between CC6 vs E32?

Depends on your priority. These are my experience of using both tyres:

CC6: a little better in noise and comfort

ES32: much better in all other aspects including wet and dry grip, aquaplanning, braking, treadwear etc.

Unless you heavily prioritise low noise and comfort and don't give a shit about all other aspects, go for ES32. A small sacrifice of slightly higher noise and little more more uncomfortable ride, you gain much more in all other aspects. That's the problem of most very specialised products such as CC6.

changed 4 tires last week. Not bad, quite comfy.

Slow driver. I don't drive >125km/h (unless overtaking cars).

My experience with CC6 is horrible. You're better off with almost any other tire. My personal fav is Dunlop SP Sport J6. While the J5 was great in wet and dry, it was noisy. J6 has improved this.
Second choice would be Bridgestone Ecopia.

CC6 is well known for its comfort and quietness.
Every time I test drive my customer car who installed a freshly CC6.
Ride is comfort and noise is quiet even at 80km/h - 100km/h.

For those who are interested change CC6, kindly write down or PM me your tyre size to get a quotation from me, King of Rims rclxms.gif

PM price pls 195/55 R15 for CC6 and XM2. TQ

replying to this old thread,

My experience with CC6 is mixed since it's so comfortable and quiet however didn't manage to test long as it's easier to puncture.
