With XZs 4GB in just four months I was wondering why can't they just skip this model and put it on the XZ? I dunno what to say about Sony's strategy anymore..

i guess dont have z5p in market ady.. probably balance stock.. but price should be around 2099.. initial launch price is 3099..

hmm.. indeed.. XZ owners definitely will feel hard.. my cousin also just bought 1 XZ black before CNY.. but he is not tech ppl so is ok.. i believe most forumers over here are quite up-to-date with tech products, so this will be very sad to recent owners..

but let's us to think over again.. XZ/Z5 series it isnt running smooth currently?! YES.. Why change?! We may decide to buy or not. seriously flagships may lasts at least 2 years. What i can say is the trend is moving too fast, normal ppl's pocket money cant follow the pace

Honestly I do not believe the theory of One Model to rule all. There are technically 4 different range in the market:
Compact (<5"), Standard (5-5.3"), Phablet (5.4-5.7") aka Premium Series, Tab (5.8"+) aka Ultra Series. There is nothing wrong of giving 4 top of the spec devices every year.

And, due to the nature of product development, you won't release all models in one shot as this would give problem to the entire development/production/marketing/sales.

XZs is a facelift of XZ similiar to what the Apple way of saying IP6 to IP6s. I think now is either you wait for the XZ price to come down (they surely need to clear off the old stock), or wait a bit more to get the XZs.

Yes indeed. We buy what we need. If you start chasing tech, it's a never ending game. Also if you choose to wait for better spec, it's also a never ending waiting game. Conclusion just but what you need and what appeal to you.

Tech in smartphone is quite mature now. Even a s810 is still working good as of now. 3gb ram... It's just a number. I personally do not feel any lag using xz as my daily phone.

On flagship... To be fair xperia x was never a flagship phone from Sony. X performance sees only limited release in certain country. Not even release in Malaysia. So in 2016 there is only 1 true flagship model from Sony and that's xz.

Come 2017, i think the real flagship is xzp. But that won't be release until late may or June. Xzs, i don't think it's a flagship as it carry the tech spec of 2016. Just a minor update just like the z3+.

Coming from Xperia Z, I guess I'll see you around in 4-5 years time (XZ5 maybe? haha or XY)

I agree that one model won't rule all. But not killing its own product just 4 months old. Apple release S version after 1 year. Sony didn't announce XP was a flagship, but the specs was the highest during that time. It should not be a mid-range. For the previous version, it is not so "hurt" because it still consider an upgrade, like Z1 to Z2 to Z3.... But this time, XZ to XZs is an facelift lol.

I have an XZ and also disappointed the XZs has come out so soon.

But then owners of One Plus 3 had the same issue when One Plus 3T came out. Even worse coz that one had the SD 821 processor.

At the end of the day, just enjoy the phone

XZ was announced on IFA Sept 16, availability in MY was early Oct.

Time flies its already 6 months.

If terms matter, XZ/XZs are flagships and Z5p and XZp are super flagships

When I call a friend using xz loud speaker, I notice the loud speaker is very soft and the sound isn't come out from the front. Anyone else have this problem?

Unfortunately, With loud speaker calls, only one speaker is firing, opposed of 2 when playing medias. So, this is normal.
