Probably dirty cow.

I feel the pink colour is the prettiest one. Although not suit me lol.

X performance has nougat now. Soon for xz.

I found my phone getting lag, and very lag after updated to nougat. Compared to my old Z3, it used to have 2x benchmark. But the reality is, the z3 is 2x faster and responsive than my xz now.

Then i start to find the reason, and i found it now.
I used few hardware tools and benchmark apps.
I found Sony disable 2 CPU in nougat.


And the benchmark drop, at least 40% than 6.0
It used to have 120k+ marks.


A restart make it goes to 110k, but still under performance.

Idle won't hide CPU info. It probably bugs either the system hide it or it is totally disabled.
I saw the XDA and few users reported similar issue.
I am thinking to downgrade to marshmallow.

I updated the latest nougat, it solved the problem. But i will see how is the performance in long term.

After update, my friend said the pokemon go graphic is much smoother. Seem like the vulkan is running now.

No it should not. My friend 1+3 do not work that way.
This should be either bug of having problem to display sleeping cpu, or the cpu really sleep and didn't wake up.

And from my experience, doing benchmark, the mark is getting higher after few tests.
But after nougat update, i found it getting lower marks. Seem like the cpu went sleeping and won't wake.

Do you mean this?
If you read my previous post, i meant that the CPU will goes sleep and never wake up for either bug of showing wrong detail, or the cpu really didn't wake up.
Of course the benchmark are tested under similar situation for fair result.

I am using Huawei and Remax convertor + original Sony cable. All of them are just the same.
Anyway, only high amp need use thicker cable, but Sony limits the phone to 9V 1.5A, so basically any cable/convertor will do.

There is some way to remove bloatware for 6.0 with dirty cow. 7.0+ is no, and latest dec security alr fixed the dirty cow.

So pretty the devil case. How much you guys bought for it?

Sony promise 1 year 1 flagship. Seem like they never change, still 1 year 4 flagship.

Just within 2years time, Z5 & Z5P, X & XP, XZ, now XZs & XZP.
(Some maybe will argue that only the premium version is the flagship, but i don't agree that because a similar high end spec, with different screen actually are both flagship. Just like consider only IP7+ is only flagship but not IP7 or only galaxy note not galaxy s.)
I feel Sony strategy is stupid, its products do not fight its competitors, but itself. Who still buying their XZ now which is only 4months old unless the price is quite different (it cuts its own price). It doesn't honor their customers but embarrassing them by outdating their phone in 4 months.
I think they focus on a cybershot and a walkman series will help them grab back the market share, at least it won't fighting itself.

I agree that one model won't rule all. But not killing its own product just 4 months old. Apple release S version after 1 year. Sony didn't announce XP was a flagship, but the specs was the highest during that time. It should not be a mid-range. For the previous version, it is not so "hurt" because it still consider an upgrade, like Z1 to Z2 to Z3.... But this time, XZ to XZs is an facelift lol.

Up with latest March security patch.

My Z3 was sent to warranty during update.
Today also sent my XZ to warranty >.>

6 pins of the usb type c broken and stuck inside the port.
Now the phone only can charge with that broken cable. Normal cable cannot plug anymore.

Type C so fragile.

BTW, Ixsun or SEMS better?

SEMS can repair waterproof phone in Ipoh, while Ixsun must send back KL.
Ixsun told me they need 2 weeks, SEMS said 2 days to check, and 1 week to repair.

I took decision to send SEMS, but i had bad experience with them before.

Hope this time is good decision.
