continue from the last thread. hahaha.

So should i sent out for warranty or repair using the Xperia Companion first?
*
try repair using PC Companion first. back up important data first to prevent loss.

will do. i'll update once i have repaired using PC companion.

are you guys using stamina all the way? or only when the battery are low?
*
Never use the stamina mode since marshmallow, as it's pretty broken due to Google's restrictions on battery saving.

Anyway, new update via OTA. Not sure what it fixes.

the latest update that we received just only gives November security patches. i think Sony is trying to roll out security patches like every 2-3 months.

LDAC is an upgrade for bluetooth audio, hires audio sounds slightly better on bluetooth , still cant compared to wired but its good.

for non Hires Audio, sounds similar using either APT-X or AAC bluetooth encoding.
*
I would still prefer a headphone over bluetooth headphones all the time. smile.gif

however, for the 100ABN, if one were to get it isn't wrong either, because of the almost top class noise cancelling.
EDIT : and it has cable support too.

for the xperia sold in malaysia
by default the camera shutter is silent right?

after putting in the docomo sim card in tray 2(not even enabled), instantly you can hear the audible shutter and AF sound, no way u can turn it off

i knew its japanese regulations but never knew this feature can be "implanted" by sim card
*
It produces sounds but You can it turn on and off.

Never knew Japanese sim cards were that 'strong'. blink.gif

japan mandates phones must have audible shutter sound to prevent perverts taking stealthily pics whistling.gif

sony is a japanese company, hence the firmware is built to recognize the sim card's country ID, and act accordingly

now I not sure if iPhone will have the same effect or not, maybe Chinese phones won't adhere
*
Yes, i know that mandatory rule.
But with XZ's speaker, it's pretty much useless since the shutter sound isn't loud. rolleyes.gif

I think Z2 is the loudest phone with stereo speaker from Sony without Ericsson

Nope, Z3 is the loudest and has the best sound quality.

is it just my phone or do you guys notice that the front sensor got a dimmed red led which is turn on? what does it do.
*
It's normal. It's an ambient light sensor, which serves as auto brightness.
Try enter a dim room and turn on/off adaptive brightness. smile.gif

Anybody else feels that the XZ's USB-C port seems a bit loose? Or is this the characteristic of USB-C (it's my firstphone with such a port).
*
loose as in cable loose or the pin inside loose?
if cable, it's normal. if pin, be prepared to send it to the service center.

The Xperia XZ Sony is selling in their online shop comes with Sony's Extended Warranty(1+1),
But if I'm getting an original one from Lazada,
is it possible to register it and get the extended warranty? hmm.gif
*
no, because it is an offer from Sony Malaysia, not from 3rd party retailers. those on lazada are 3rd party retailers.

when double tapping the screen to wake up, did you guys tap on the center of the screen or any where on the screen?
the desc on the settings mention about tapping at the center of the screen.

i tried to double tapping at the center now, and has better success rate compared to last time, but still not 100%
the manual settings seems to be the same as it most likely being pushed to other model as well.
i was hoping for RAW support but it seems like it was not included to my disappointment.
some photos still being overly processed.
*
Basically you can tap anywhere but I always tap the center when holding phone. If lying on desk, I will tap anywhere.

let me try double tapping on the while the phone lying on the table, havent really try that

BTW, is there any settings that i can set so that the phone screen will automatically turns on when there are new messages, like SMS and whatsapp?

also gotten the 9H back protector with lens and flash protector
after applying the phone is much more reflective and no longer have that matte finish to it
but it is not as slippery as i thought it would be
*
depends on the app itself, actually. the default SMS app and whatsapp doesnt have this function built in.

if the glass protector has oleophobic coating, it will be very slippery like how previous glass backed Sony phones. the coating functioned to repel water and resist fingerprints.

so how was the battery so far?
do you guys on the location service?
Did you guys use the stamina mode?

just updated mine yesterday, without formatting.
the SOT are now 15 mins at 86%. sad.gif
*
i turned on everything and it lasts me nearly full day with 2 hours SoT and 40% left.
i never used STAMINA mode since Marshmallow as the STAMINA mode is broken by Google's Doze mode and battery saving T&C.

BTW, should we rejoice?
