Hi all,

i have applied twice for the Petronas ikhwan Visa. first in June 2016 and recently in April 2017. both applications were rejected.

i even wrote an email to maybank to request a portion split credit limit from my maybank conventional cards to Islamic cards as per below and also was rejected.

would appreciate some advise on how to proceed for the application.

thanks

Your situation is exactly the same as I encountered when I tried to get back MBB2 AMEX or MBB FCS VC. I got Ikhwan MC.
I have tried all the avenues - M2U, manual and CL split. All failed. Even recent BT also rejected.

They normally won't disclose the reason behind the rejection.

i guess it's harder now to get all the cash back credit cards from Maybank.

both my MBB Amex and FCB VS max RM50 cash back every month.

such a bummer since Citibank CB revised its CB tier for petrol (which i had cancelled it), leaves me to pump petrol using FCB or Amex only.

I admit that their benefits are good.
Nevertheless, it's an end of chapter of me with MBB.
I have moved on to PBB.

Have you tried going to Maybankard Centre (KLCC/1U/Midvalley)? Since you went Wisma genting one I believe KLCC should be convenient.

The last round I applied for Ikhwan card the PIC there straightaway recommend me to split the CL to get the approval and I got it within 1/2 hours (weekday)

I just collected my replacement card. The newer card is shinier and I prefer the old card because it has darker shade. Even the officer felt the same too when he cut my card into pieces. laugh.gif

I will try it out this Friday. biggrin.gif

hi fruitie, do we have to activate the new card? yesterday i was told to wait 24hours before the card can be activated at m2u but seems nothing changes and no prompt appear to activate the new card tho.

or can simply use the new card?

You mean your new card not appear under m2u for "pending card activation"?
You card must be activated before you can use it.

It is the same card with same number, same CVV, no activation is required I supposed.
I just simply changed PIN again (though I put in same PIN as the old one).

Can use it anytime, not planning to use it anytime soon until Friday.

Suggest you retrieve a copy of your credit report and take a look if there is any spots on them.

Sometimes it is as simple as missing annual fee from a particular bank and they mark that as non payment which screwed your record. My friend had to raise a huge complain to get it resolved which impacts his housing loan app.

Alternatively, reduce your overall cc limit with other banks for at least 3 months first as record is updated quarterly by international banks.
