Same thought here and I will be slapped with AF in July. Sigh.
*
Then you must try to "cancel" card for them to waive your AF, do update us on the out-comings

I once asked to waive citi bank AF, they give BS of AF help to support their card benefit and bla bla bla.. I straight say please cancel card then, they also straight say AF waiver will be given, and next day I got my AF rebated. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

really hardcore move.

Has anyone tried pledging FD for the credit card recently? I went to uptown branch, they said can only pledge if you’re a priority customer, need to have 250k in FD!
*
Why need pledging FD for a credit card? Use your salary slip, business proof to apply one.

I think most is young people. For people retired (mayb > 60yo) why bother to apply cc after 60 years of not having it. just use cash. I believe old people are rich like boss. cool2.gif cool2.gif cool2.gif cool2.gif

Your statement is clearly violating age discrimination.

You have payslip or proper income poof doesn't mean all people should or must have it.
Your earlier post is another violation of biased discrimination.
*
blink.gif wew~ don't be so serious. We are just discussing ways of people applying for cc. I was rejected by banks too when applying for cc.

For what I know, if you have stable source of income, be it doing business or employment, its easier for bank to approve your cc. If unstable income, bank also don't want to take the risk lo...

QUOTE(sarahlsy @ Apr 8 2019, 12:45 PM)
I got rejected, reason given is because I have a company credit card for company expenses, which the company pays for. However, it will still show up when the banks do a credit check, and Standard Chartered is very strict, according to the sales person, as long as your spending is more than 70% of your salary, it doesn't matter about whether you pay promptly / what assets you have / etc, you will be rejected. That's why I was asking about FD pledge.
*
My experience with SC was, they call my company and ask whether I am working here. The next day I got sms informing they approve my application.

For spending more than 70% of salary then reject? ermm... usually if there is not outstanding, suppose not be a problem....

They will not entertain, I requested before. Only RM 10 will be waived but not the interest charges.
Anyway, I cannot blame them because it was my fault.
*
Ya, agree, late means late. no excuses. just pay the interest. Prior to that, they already give 20 days interest free period when statement come out. So that's no reasons why we don't do our responsible.

QUOTE(a13solut3 @ Apr 17 2019, 10:03 AM)
I recently encountered some issue with SCB.

I found out that I have 1 non-payment strike on my CCRIS on the month of February. Below is my chronology.

Jan - Called to SCB to make card cancellation for my unactivated supplementary card due to SST charges. Asked them for waiver of SST on all my credit cards as well and it got approved on the spot.

So before I drop the call, I asked if I should pay SST charged on my supplementary card or not as it is never activated before.

I was assured by the CS that I do not have to pay anything as they will set the rebate back to the supplementary card.

---------------------------

Early Feb - I received 4 duplicated SMS fro SCB regarding my unpaid outstanding for my supplementary card. I called to CS again and ask if I should panic over this SMS, and once again they verified that the card has already been cancelled and can ignore the SMS.

---------------------------

Mid Mar - I kepoh go check CCRIS and found out i got 1 shown on CCRIS, called SCB to verify what went wrong because SCB will not list credit card number in the CCRIS report.

SCB confirmed that I do not have any outstanding payment and ask me to wait until CCRIS update their next cycle.

---------------------------

Early Apr - Received 4 duplicated snail mail telling me supplementary card got outstanding payment and I called SCB again, telling me to ignore the letters.

---------------------------

Mid Apr - I checked my CCRIS again, now it show JAN 0 FEB 1 MAR 0 . The non-payment stays there.

---------------------------
Send my CCRIS report to SCB for investigation.

---------------------------

16/4 - SCB called me back after investigation and telling me

- I have RM25 outstanding SST charges on my supplementary card.

- Due to the card has been cancelled, they are unable to offset the rebates into the already cancelled card, so they make it become cash rebates for my principal card (WTF)

My response :

- WTF, so you are from bank side and unable to make the transfer the rebates into my supplementary card because the card has been cancelled, and you expect me to bank transfer the RM25 to my card? I have try to reconfirm if I have any outstanding for the last 3 months and was assured I did not have any outstanding.

Now you expect me to see this non-payment for the next 1 year in CCRIS because of unpaid RM25 (which was supposedly get offset by rebates?)

After that, staff realized that what I'm saying starting to make sense and have no idea how to solve this matter, so she ask for more time for her to figure out how to settle this issue.

---------------------------

IMHO, I think SCB realized they fucked something up due to few things.

If I have unpaid outstanding of RM25, my CCRIS report should show JAN 0 FEB 1 MAR 2 , instead my MAR is 0.
Credit card should not be able to CANCELLED until all OUTSTANDING PAYMENT is settled

Always check your CCRIS report, if I didn't check, gods know how long I'm going to get screwed over by this measly RM25 issue.
*
Sorry to hear that.

So the Feb ccris will show 1 for a year long even everythg is settled?...thats kind of bad for you.

Do cancel all the cards that you are not willing to use.

Not only scb.

Clear all out standing before cancel, regardless its SST(going to get rebate) or any other outstanding.

GDI...i really hate scb cc now...always have diff due date..

yes my own fault not check the exact due date..

but i really wonder how they calculate the int charge.
last month lfc statement

due rm1995 on 8 april

i redeem cb rm175 to stmt on 25 march.

then paid rm 500 on 10 apr
rm 1320 on 11apr.
now they charged me rm 36.03 for int...i try to calculate but it become more confusing to myself..

juz wanna know the exact amount of int..
will the int charged again on my next bill?

fckg hell have another COC with them...afraid that rate will be like increase coz of late payment??
thanks.
*
QUOTE(bee993 @ Apr 24 2019, 11:17 AM)
probably is i think...gonna call and see wat they say.

else if say this month 1k due.paid rm700 and 300 cb to acc...

than they can charge 300x int for full month...that will be ridiculous vmad.gif
*
Base on your payment, 1995-175 = 1820

9~10 april interest for 1820 (2days)
11 interest for 1320 1(day)

if base on 18% p.a..calculate also RM2.48 for these 3 days only. how to get interest till RM36.03 for late 3 days payment... unless they calculate interest start from your statement date when you late pay 1 day...

bro they said charge int from swiped date...i really dont know is this even legit...26feb-11 apr
*
wow...than make sense you get interest for RM30++

mind to share your amount and the spend date? I try simple calculate for you.

Note: one good information from here.

You spend RM2000 from statement date till due date ..bank give 20 days interest free, once past the due, bank straight charge interest from the date you spend.. I dunno that till now. haha... tot they start calculate interest from due date...

the normal practice i feel shud b any late from due date...and this BS bank dint even have grace period...mbb still the best.

with their ever chging due date is my main prob, not gvg excuse like i said it is my responsibility.
best still those fixed due date..6 close 26 pay mbb ...
am waiting their supervisor call back...i strongly feel this is not fair to treat CB payment as non payment.
*
I dont think they charge your cb as none payment, as you have RM1820 unpaid amount due right?

E.g My case:

My outstanding RM1500. I got cb RM50.
I always pay only RM1450 with no interest charged to my account.

Provided that your payment RM1450 and cb redeemed is not late that the due date.

so, no interest is charge for the cb. cb is consider as payment to your account. unless, the cb is credited same date to your due date.

QUOTE(beLIEve @ Apr 24 2019, 01:35 PM)
actually, if you're not a pro who could fully maximize the 20 days grace period, best is to pay up the moment you receive the statement if you have spare cash lying around. Otherwise, set reminder and pay the earliest possible until you become a pro.

Unless your monthly credit card bill is very high, you won't be able to save much delaying the payment. Meanwhile, the bank charge you like 15%-18% if you miss it.
*
Agree. If not pro payer...better don't risk the 20 days. Miss means miss...you have to be responsible for the interests charges. Not begging here & there for forgiveness.

Currently holding 21 credit cards and all are active.

What I do, just record down all the transaction into excel file including information about statement date and due date, it is quite clear already.

And also group them into single tab within same statement date.

And the way you look for your file and records, the statement and due date automatically in your mind.
