Once we've made a transaction after SST is charged, unable to get the rebate ady right if cancel?
Looks like this month will be the final month for me to top up BP,
after that 30/2500 is only 1.2% rebate, samo with no AF waiver, mass cancellation ahead?

Standard Chartered has revised the cashback policy of one of its most popular credit cards, the JustOne Platinum Mastercard. Starting 1 July 2019, the revision will see the card’s maximum cashback cap reduced as well as several other changes.

Previously, the Standard Chartered JustOne Platinum Mastercard offered one of the highest monthly cashback caps in Malaysia at a generous RM85. However, the revision will see that cap reduced to RM60 per month, as well as a new restriction: cashback for online-only purchases will be capped at RM30 per month.

Huh? Now SC also play U-turn?
No more spending with RM20kfor annual fee waiver?
*
as simple as that. no af waiver condition.

my anniversary month is OCT,
which month it will charge annual fee?

if i want to cut my JOP which month cut safer?
*
1 Nov 2019

i asked this exact question via livechat this afternoon.

if plan to cut, stop spending in Oct. wait until Sep cashback received in Oct, pay off all outstanding less Sep cashback, then terminate.

You swipe your card on 30/7 for 2300 on BP and RM200 on Petrol, but the transaction MUST BE posted by 7/8 for it to be eligible as minimum spend for July CB computation.
If your transaction for RM200 is late (ie posted after 7/8), then you are deemed to have not met the minimum spending of RM2500 for July. Thus your CB will only be capped at RM28 for July.

1. It follows calendar month cycle, not statement date cycle ?
2. If follows calendar cycle, 1/Aug is Thursday. "First week of the month" for Aug is thus 1/2/3 of August, 3 days only, not 7.
3. "Transactions must be posted within the first week of the following month".
3a) Assuming it follows calendar cycle, so in July month, all transactions which are posted from 1/Jul to 3/Aug, will be eligible for July's CS.
3b) While from August onward, transactions must be posted within 4/Aug to 7/Sep;
and subsequently monthly calculated ?
*
1) calendar month cycle. T&C has stated the definition: "A month is defined as the period which runs from the first day of a particular calendar month to the last
day of that calendar month."

3) just treat it as 7 days on the following month.

u need to understand how cc transaction works.

reason is simple.

example: when a transaction transacted on 30 July, usually it is still not settled/finalized yet. the merchant need to perform settlement, usually T+1 or T+2 or sometimes T+0 days, depending on settlement arrangement between merchant and their acquirer bank.

in turn, each cc transaction usually has 7 days validity (grace period) for merchant to claim/perform settlement. if merchant not claiming the transaction (due to invalid or no record or dispute/refund, etc), the specific transaction will expire and it wont be POSTED into your cc account. posting = settled/claimed.

note: you will notice this is the standard message from bank CS if some error happened to your payment and they ask you to wait for 7 days to see the "refund" returned back to you. if you see it, then it's automated. if you dont, then the merchant is not doing the settlement properly, meaning they still claim the money/settled the transction which is already invalid (my experience was with Boost App)

now, a transaction on 30 July, it may get disputed/refunded or even frauded. so, SCB is putting that clause to manage the expectation* whereby a transaction MUST be posted within 7 days from a transaction took place. when it get posted, it's finalized into your cc account. so, cashback calculation can be properly done.

to manage the expectation*: i guess many users are complaining/asking for cashback status early of the month, or refund/disputes cases, or cb calculated wrongly due to long unposted transaction.

a refund/dispute AFTER a transaction get posted is managed separately via chargeback process, which is long and tedious as it involves many parties and multiple cycles, depending on the nature of chargeback reason.

From majorarmstrong's chart, seems like getting rm28/rm1500 i.e. 1.87% is not too shabby, will target this and try to ask for AF waiver when time comes
*
should always calculate with the AF.

if got waiver, then it's a bonus.

Wan to clarify on petrol:

Basically there's no specific mentioned which petrol and limit to when to pump to entitle CB right?
Then this lead to next Q: include TnG reload in the petrol station ???

From July onward, can divert RM200 petrol to this card as it enjoy 15% CB
*
technically can. the Petrol MCCs are similar to HLB Wise's where you get 10% cb for reload tng at petrol stations.

// Petrol spend is define as transaction with MCC of 5541 & 5542 //

more important is to find stations that doesnt impose surcharge.

For SCB CB, you will need to redeem it from Rewards 360. It will not appear automatically and will be ready for redemption latest by end of following month. However, it is usually ready by mid of following month and fellow forummers will let us know if ready to be redeemed. So look out for this thread when it's ready to redeem for May cash back.

This month june 2019 statement been charge Annual Fee.

Call for cancel the card, the CS told her need to pay 50% annual fee.
Call 2nd CS also saying the same thing. Is this new rules from BNM ??
*
up to bank's discretion

100% waiver is not guaranteed also, right?

since she's not been using it, there's no good reason for full waiver, right?
