Noticed this damage when pumping air for my tires, will the tire need to be replaced? hmm.gif

Personally I would not be concerned. Sidewall most important is no penetration. The outer rubber just for cosmetic.

how do we know the tyre is softer or harder sidewall?

will there be any indicator on the tyre?

I wonder.

Personally I take the figures on review site as an indicator. I feel that most tyre with really good braking/cornering performance will have slightly stiffer sidewall. I will also take a look for cars fitted with the tyre to see how much the sidewall rounded on full load.

Previously I also heard one fella (cant remember tyre shop worker or who liao) who told me if the tyre surface juncture with sidewall is very sharp L shaped, he said confirm stiff tyre. Personally I feel really hard to see especially when Im using 55 series which is usually a bit rounded.

No indicator, just try squeeze the sidewall. ☺️

You might want to seal the hole with sealant to prevent moisture ingression.

Can la, just try squeeze low end comfort tire first like the CC6, then compare with UHP tires like V12e2 and PS4.

Today, managed to increase the V12EVO2 pressure from 35 to 36psi. Feels better ride and handling.

I was quoted the Falken fk510 rm430 per pc for 215/45/R17 and out of my budget. Next change will consider.

Might as well go for PS4 at 350 for this size. No budget that time so opt for v12e2 at 270, else sure go for PS4 sweat.gif

In Penang, PS4 for size 215/45/R17 is easily rm450++.
I bought the V12Evo2 for rm290.

According to Hankook Malaysia website, this tire come in size 225/50ZR16...
So my question is does anyone know this size really available in Malaysia or not?

Was looking for 215/55/16 but officially not available, then I saw 225/50/16 list on the website so maybe I still have a chance to try this tires for my car hehehe.

Thanks all sifu2

V12E2 is better than T1R, not sure if compared to TR1 coz it's still very new but in general Toyo tires are overrated!

Say no to T1R based on experience...... biggrin.gif

Yes it should improve your comfort a bit also but would loose a bit if grip performance to your current PS4. At about half the price tgan PS4 or even less, it's unbeatable value for money now.
