Dear all, please gave a look at the quotation below, what do you think?
Absolutely no idea about security system. In addition to the quotation below, do I have to engage companies like ADT for alarm?

Thanks in advance for your kind suggestion..

Hi all,

I currently trying to setup my CCTV system by using UTP CAT5e cable and also using following items:

DVR : DS-7208HUHI-K2 SERIES TURBO HD DVR

CAMERA : DS-2CE16H1T-IT  x3

CAMERA : DS-2CE56H1T-ITM x3

CABLE : PROLiNK CAT5E / CAT-5E UTP Network Cable

POWER SUPPLY:  Professional 12V DC 10A 9 Way Boxed CCTV Power Supply Unit

BALUN: BALUN

The problem now is "NO VIDEO" is coming up in my screen once connected.

First thing I suspect the power not reaching the camera, then when connected, I try to cover up the camera with my hands and can see the IR sensor lighten up, so I think the camera got power.

Plus the cable runs not more than 50m.

Or could it be really the power not reaching the camera? Or the power supply not really enough to power on the camera? I dunno what's wrong with the setup.

Pls help sifus  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

If u got multimeter, check the power at camera end, maybe power drop.. If measure got 12V++ then ok, if jz 11V++... something wrong with ur balun or cable.
also, make sure ur balun support TVI 5MP... coz some balun not support 5MP Camera.
If not because of the power, then sure Balun not compatible with ur camera.

U can try use a short patch cord, connect balun and camera to the DVR, see got video or not. If got, cable problem.
If u got Coax cable, can try it connect camera with DVR. DVR no need setting, plug and play 1.

Actually if u use UTP LAN Cable for Coax System, u shd use CAT6, CAT5e will give video noise.. The best, still run RG Coax cable if use Coax System. UTP cable better use IP System.

At camera end, the DC Jack from balun, put the Red (+) into the jack hole, Black (-) to the outer jack conductor. C how many volt. Shd get 12V ++

yes i got multimeter and how to check power at camera end ya?

do u think my balun there isn’t compatible? do u hv any that compatible?
*
U need to get back HIKVISION BALUN. Only their Balun compatible with 5MP TVI.
But the video quality may drop because u use CAT5e..
Actually all CCTV that use Balun quality will drop 10 - 20% compare to use Coax cable.
Then if u use non-full copper CAT5e.. u will get more interference or noise...

Hi,

I have a Cynics DVR Model HT4216-III.
I previously were able to view remotely via my HP but after the IVMS 4500 update i cant seems to be able to connect.
I went to HIL-connect website and checked and notice my device is still stated online.
Any advice?
*
Try use HIK-Connect app to login.
If u want stable connection, u shd use DDNs and do port forwarding, don't use P2P. Unless your internet don't provide u public IP, for example Digi Broadband.

Hi Sifus,

Not sure where else to ask in lowyat, while browsing about CCTV PSU I came across this thread.

Anyway I've 16 Contronetix camera powered up by this PSU. The connection is Co-axial It was installed while I was away so wasn't sure if I got a lousy or defective unit. The current Power supply's fan is spinning so hard 24/7 so I'm thinking if the wattage consumption is too much for the current unit.

Perhaps someone can shed some light and help me on this as I'm quite the noob for CCTV.

Before I head back to the shop I've got my unit to ask for an exchange or buy a new one, can I know what PSU brand is recommended for CCTV and what to look out for in choosing the next PSU?

Thanks!

it's 20 Amp

I contacted the seller and he said the fan is not supposed to spin this loud.

So he recommended one no brand Power supply for RM75 (also 20 AMP) and another branded - Meanwell for RM290 (seller writes it as 29 Ah so I reckon it's 29 AMP)

I reckon get the Meanwell to solve the problem once and for all? Coz it's really loud and warm cry.gif

29Ah ? got built-in battery?

Meanwell 20A Power supply is around rm280.
With enclosure box, short-circuit protection pcb.

I'm not sure whether it comes with battery. Will find out later today. Seller did indicate to me 29Ah and picture shown it's the same small rectangular metal square box kind.

I have a feeling it's this one right here
Meanwell  tongue.gif  can you share me the link for this RM280 set. I will still prefer to get one from local store but still good as a reference.

So ideally, a good one should come with battery,  enclosure box and short-circuit protection?

The 1 i mention is like this:

RM280

U can see the board with red LEDs, that is for short circuit protection.

The Power Supply with backup battery max 10A only.. RM300

U use 20A because u got 16cameras?

So far Im okay with hikvision. As a seller, what do you think if compare dahua with hikvision?

planning for a bigger project, so need to consider if there are better options.
*
Depends on your need and spec. Some camera Hikvision is better, so Dahua better. So normally we will study the project requirement then only recommend.

Hi. any seller here that have DS-7732NI-I4/24P in stock can pls pm me
*
Why use Built-in 24Port PoE model for this 32Ch NVR?
u can buy the non-PoE model DS-7732NI-K4 and get the PoE Switch, cheaper.
Also, easier for future service and maintenance.

Any comments?

Depends on what system, either analog/coax system like TVI, CVI, AHD or IP System.
Usually IP System is more expensive.
It is good for you if u can get the detail quotation from the seller.
