Thank you for the suggestion and correction.

What I want was indeed PT indoor POE with mic camera.
The initial suggestion, DS-2CD1323G0-IU (2MP with Mic) matched well but I was looking for better range (ColorVu/DarkFigther are good).

I'm not sure how the audio connector works.
I assume external mic should work with POE camera but external speaker may require additional power supply, right?
*
Yes, u need external 12V for mic for that PoE PTZ camera.

If DarkFighter with built-in mic, either:
DS-2CD2425FWD-I (2MP) - RM420

DS-2CD2545FWD-IS (4MP) - RM570

DS-2CD2525FWD-IS (2MP) - RM530

if Non-Dark Fighter:

DS-2CD2543G0-IS (4MP) - RM430

DS-2CD2523G0-IS (2MP) - RM390

if ColorVu:

DS-2CD2347G1-LU (4MP) - RM600

DS-2CD2327G1-LU (2MP) - RM530

thanks for the suggestion...any particular reason why u recommend imou over ezviz?

anyway....i heard that most of the cctv that has alarm tend to give false alarm i.e insects fly over..pets and car
any cctv can overcome this?
*
From our experience, IMOU wifi cctv better than ezviz, but IMOU price slightly expensive.

Yes, u will get false alarm because camera motion detection based on image pixel change. Now only cctv with built-in Ai can differentiate human, vehicle, pets, insect, etc.. But very expensive.

If u opt for IMOU G26E, it has motion detector PIR built-in, can reduce false alarm.

Can it be connected to DVR/NVR wirelessly. If yes which one is the most suitable for Dahua?
I know ezviz can be connected to HIK DVR/NVR.
*
Yes, IMOU and Ezviz all can connect to DVR/NVR
Use NVR if u want to link the Wifi camera.

Hi all

I would need to install CCTV at my house but all the quotations that I received from a few sellers were rm2500 without hacking, rm3000 with hacking and yesterday, another seller quoted rm4000.
I actually think I only need about 4 wired cameras for the ground floor
1. Porch
2. Hall
3. Kitchen
4. Back

For the upper floor, I would just get the wireless one and fix it if I really need it. I have a maid and its just a precaution thingylar..to be safe.

The thing is, the house is undergoing renovation and my contractor's electrician is around as well, I can get them to fix for me the wires all, so I was just thinking if I can do it myself instead.

So, my next question is..what type of camera do I need to buy, saw some HIK vision stuff, what do you all recommend and if possible, provide me the link, so that I can buy it.
I should be able to do the configuration myself, also..what type of wiring would I need..

And...for the porch and the back, how do I know if my camera is waterprooflar...

Looking for advice as well, you see the area is already gated and guarded.. so..I am not gonna go for any alarm system like that. Just would like to save moneylar...don't want to spend unnecessarily.
I should also mention that, my contractor is also laying for me the cat6 cables for data point.

What cables do the CCTV thing use?
*
Depends on what system u use..
If u use Coaxial system, system price is a lot cheaper than IP System.

If ur house under reno, at RM2500, u can get quite good coaxial system (example: 5MP Full Color System), incl cabling, hacking etc..
Even if u opt for IP System, also can get 4MP system..

I know Ezviz , Mi home able to. how about others ?
*
All CCTV (Incl DVR or NVR) nowadays can be access remotely, either using app or pc.
It is a standard feature.

yes both imou bullet and imou ranger2 is 2mp camera

dahua nvr is quite expensive compare to ezviz nvr....any reason why?
can i use ezviz nvr x5c for my setup? as the price is below rm300
i cannot find dahua nvr with that kinda of price
*
If u use Ezviz, u can only link the IMOU camera using ONVIF protocol. So, only video streaming only.
Other function all not support.
Unless u jz want to do record only, then ok..
U can control the Camera using IMOU app.
So u will hv 2 app, 1 for recorder 1 for camera.

so it needs to connect to my home wifi? not directly to the NVR?
meaning in order to use IP cctv, i need to on my home router 24 hours?
*
Unless u get the WiFi NVR like Ezviz, then the Wifi camera is connect directly to the NVR..

thanks.. but is it strong enough to cover whole house?
beside Ezviz, does dahua, hikvision have such wifi NVR?
*
Don't thk so.. So the best still connect to Wifi router. U can use Mesh Router if u want full coverage
Ezviz is Sub brand of Hikvision.

pretty noob on this
my house is in the midst of renovation. I am planning to install few outdoor CCTVs, IPTV precisely. Already asked wireman to get few power cable ready at few points such as carporch and alley behind the house. However i am not planning to pull network cable.
Any recommendation? for safety reason and just outdoor cameras, 4 units max. For indoor, probably just 1 or 2 IPTV and will off whenever there is people at home for privacy concern.
*
Why do power point? Shd pull LAN Cable, CAT5e or CAT6.

u can look for Ezviz or IMOU..
Ezviz got startup kit that come with a Ezviz NVR and 4 Wifi camera.
Can buy from their official store at lazada.

But personally thk IMOU better..

i also laid power point instead of LAN cable.
thinking of having more choice instead of only POE cctv
*
Just make sure ur wifi coverage is good.
If not, another choice is to use Homeplug.

Currently using CCTV from more than 5 years ago. 8 channel generic brand DVR, 4 camera using DASDMC DMC-620L and another 4 using HDPRO HD-N678DSI

the quality of the video is just terrible for todays standard. I received a quotation from a CCTV installer with this spec

user posted image

Is there any better option for this price or maybe even cheaper? I googled about the 5mp AHD camera but cant find much regarding its video quality, and I need a setup that can replace the current cctv camera that is already installed without the need of much rewiring if possible

2.2K gaodim, branded system some more.

hi,

I'm looking for HIKVISION camera only, can someone suggest a model with the specs:

* Indoor dome/turret
* IP Camera
* POE
* Built-in mic
* Pan/tilt
* 4MP or above
* Price: Below RM600

Model DS-2CD2143G0-IU is close but missing the Pan/tilt.
Model DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3/W seems perfect but price is too high...
*
if u want PTZ, cheapest model will be DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 .. around RM600.
