QUOTE(idealhometech @ May 31 2023, 09:56 AM) The hacker used a scripted application to put some Words on the cameras/channels OSD. So it's partly HIK fault & users negligence! Those hacked DVRs are using old firmware and direct port opened to internet. We recommend the following actions to mitigate potential risks: 1. Password strength is critical. Please set up a complex password for your devices. 2. Generally, we suggest not to connect devices directly to the open Internet. Instead, place them behind a firewall and use a VPN. 3. It is important to ensure that your decoder/ipcam have installed the latest firmware. QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Jun 26 2023, 04:36 PM) quick ask.. in case if i plan to go for ezviz for AI human detection feature.. i found the unit itself not so expensive.. but the quotation by vendor is using C3TN OutPro instead of C3W Pro.. half price is for HW and another half price if for installation.. suppose i can install myself also right? i have drill, power plug also supplied by my wireman.. i just need get weatherseal cover and conceal the plug & point.. then adjust angle & conenct cam to my apps only right?? C3TN OutPro is 2K(2304 × 1296) while C3W Pro only 1080p(1920 x 1080) Can Diy easily. |

QUOTE(ChuanHong @ Jun 27 2023, 11:04 AM) C3TN OutPro is 3MP while C3W Pro is 4MP.. real 2K compared to C3TN OutPro.. there is another variant called C3W which is 1080p as you mentioned.. ya the naming and variant are really confusing.. dont see much of different between C3TN OutPro versus C3W Pro 4MP except that 3mp vs 4mp.. C3W pro 4mp can customize audio msg when alarm triggered Since ID will do the wiring might as well go for POE NVR with 8 POE camera, still can DIY & very much more stable. Wireless only as a last resort if cabling too much of a hassle or wirings exposed.the reason why i will consider to DIY is that price over shopee/lazada is damn cheap.. 1 unit around RM200+ versus vendor quoted 300+.. installation another 200.. which i think not that difficult to me.. nowadays labor cost really incurred a lot.. i think i can managed to save myself some thousands if i DIY sine i have my own tools and wiring parts also settled by my ID.. i have 3 units mesh routers to expand wifi coverage.. okay.. i think i will DIY myself.. SD card with motion detection only record also sufficient for me.. active AI human detention is much suitable to my style.. and i will install home alarm system for others doors & windows.. CCTV for additional security layer for me.. i am planning to have 8 units of CCTV to cover my unit.. siren feature in CCTV definitely will help to scared off some potential intruders.. QUOTE(Jenn77 @ Jul 1 2023, 10:27 AM) I’m planning this additional surveillance setup, HIK NVR at ground floor connecting to a splitter to (a) living room tv, then 2 extenders to display the cctv screens in (b) 2nd floor living room tv & © master bedroom tv. Understand I will be viewing the same displays in living room. Now, is there better way to do this? Appreciate the advice/feedbacks. Put a cheapo NVR anywhere so you can choose whichever cam you like to be display there. |

Wifi NVR as far as I know the signal is proprietary between the wifi ipc & the wifi NVR and I know the IMOU sucks bigtime, banned them forever!QUOTE(ycs @ Jul 24 2023, 11:42 AM) recently bought the ezviz H8c cam, the human AI detection is very good, but it doesn't track vehicles How is the Ezviz wifi signal? QUOTE(IMF2025 @ Jul 25 2023, 08:15 PM) What is a simple cctv system I can grt without wifi connect? Just buy a wifi ip camera. QUOTE(Kenneth225 @ Aug 8 2023, 10:38 AM) Viskou one of HIK distributor says all Ezviz wifi camera supported except for those battery models. So I guess if you buy the HIK NVR & Ezviz from them should be ok. Kenneth225 liked this post

QUOTE(OptimusStar @ Aug 11 2023, 12:36 PM) First you need to know how good is your wifi coverage where you will installed this camera, as a rule of thumb if your phone 2.4Ghz can get decent speed, then should be no issue. You can get those battery ip camera with optional solar panels. Not that I recommend this model but here is the link as an example! Solar EzvizAnd for those of you still using default/simple password for your HIK/Dahua quickly go update to latest firmware & changed to a more secured password. QUOTE(cyclone2 @ Jan 16 2024, 10:34 AM) The image quality is good. I'm using 2 camera for now, the model i'm using is C540 for carporch and back yard is C340, both are 4MP and full color. The carporch one is with Pan tilt function can control from the VIGI app. Did you compare the video quality with other brands? Because from the specifications I see online it's just a run of the mill standard 4Mp IP camera.Planning to buy another 2 b4 CNY. Attached thumbnail(s) sleyer liked this post
