Bullet type is with 4.0mm lens whereas dome type is 2.8mm. Understand 2.8mm has wider viewing angle. What other consideration should I take into account in deciding a bullet or dome? My usage is for residential, 2 story terrace, to monitor car porch, back lane, balcony and internals like dining and living hall.
*
I have 4 units of this still in box. It's bullet with 2.8mm lens. Would not recommend 5Mp with 2.8mm lens. For aesthetic normally will used dome for indoor.4k bullet

If aesthetic is not an issue, 4.0mm is recommended for indoor compared to 2.8mm?
*
Used 2.8mm as a last resort if need cover everything using 1 camera.

is resolution more than 2Mp recommended if your TV/monitor/laptop/etc screen is max 1080p only ?

and for basic wired cctv monitoring..direct save to disk ( i.e no network, online notification, online viewing). is the connection like this for poe cctv (no need router ?)

nvr with hdd inside -> single cat 6 wire -> 48V poe switch -> 4x cat 6 wires -> 4x poe cameras

also anyone have experience buying cheap nvr/dvr recorder from taobao? can the interface language be changed to english ?
*
Even though your TV 1080p if you used 5Mp or higher when you zoom in can see more details. Just buy a 4 channel POE NVR, forget about the POE switch. No need internet/router still can view/playback
and you only need 4x cat6 to view on TV locally. Taobao you need ask seller if have English GUI.

I'm looking for total wireless solution as well, meaning free of cables from power and networking... Only need to install 2 outdoor cameras...

Looking at the Eufycam solution, but it seems there might be connection issue with certain model of routers specifically the WiFi 6 routers...
*
I think you can disable band steering in Wifi 6 router to solve the issues. Didn't know Eufy came out with so many new models and the 2K quality looks great.

the typical ones... laptops, phones, tv, tv box, air purifier, gaming console... even my iPhone and MacBook Air already on WiFi 6...
*
I think should be ok. Why don't you backup the router settings as a precaution then try disable band steering to test it out. If have serious issue just roll back to current configuration.

does anyone know if there is any way to tweak a DVR which doesn't have a built-in wifi module to be able to connect to wifi connection?

is it just by plugging in a wifi connector dongle? is it any type will do or any specific ones?

or would i need a wifi bridge (connect via the ethernet port)? what type should i get?

What DVR brand?

Last I try was more than 6 years ago. You better checked with your dvr supplier because from the dahua wiki different nvr/xvr uses different wifi dongle rclxub.gif

When renovations. I ask the electrician to pull the wire for CCTV.

Now I open the box, inside got two wire. Red & Black.

Any idea which one is Live n Neature? My DIY CCTV is USB one. Just install one wall socket?
*
You need to ask him whether he pull dc power or AC power point and this red & black terminated where? (I presume is just a dc cable)

Hi. Gonna open a cafe soon.

I need a cctv set with audio recording.

Hikvision colorvu / dahua full color 5mp with audio, each set 8 channel costs rm2500 each. Using dvr via rg59. Can share link?

Reolink with color and audio, for 5mp camera, 8 channel costs rm3000. Using nvr via poe.

Hikvision / dahua apps easy to use? I like the wizsense / acusense function on the dahua and hikvision. Cant go wrong w these 2 brands

For unv, i cannot find any seller on shopee.

I preferred wired. Coz wireless could be a problem if the network failed or no coverage
*
UNV very low profile more on dealers network instead of online shop.

Seems the Dahua DVR is only 5MN not actual 5MP as for the HIK it's very confusing to me about their 4K Lite. I think you need double check with seller if it's recording at real 5MP. But the Dahua have Wizsene while the HIK only ordinary motion detection. Tough choice brows.gif

Reolink poe 8ch 5mp set

Is this set better than the hikvision / dahua? Which one is better in your opinion? Tq
*
Wrong person to ask, Reolink is not a brand I would recommend for commercial used. SOHO still acceptable. But if your cafe is well lit the Reolink does seems a good choice compare to the earlier two, because ip camera still outperform hd analog even though both have same megapixel. Anyway, try get Dahua or HIK POE kit if price not much difference.

Many business premises, factories and big projects also used Dahua/HIK so why not for residential? But it also depends on which camera you choose because their range is from entry level to high end professional models.
