Not sure about your case. But for me i found that the battery life is good, 9 hours usage with about 10% left.
Maybe can try to factory reset? Becoz i factory reset my device after updated to the latest firmware 10.0.2.

How long the Usage Time shown in setting?
I also depend on usage time,
If u put auto brightness and always play phone at very bright environment the battery gone very fast,
I found that the bright display eat hell a lot battery.

If your friend Usage Time is low, then most likely the area she staying has week telco signal i.e. 2 bar or 1 bar.
As I noticed that mayb due to removed of 2 antenna line on iphone7, the signal on my iphone7 always 1 bar lesser than my android phone,
Same telco, same area, same time, same 4g...but 1 bar lesser.
