IIs buying a 2014 model suprima premium model worth it at the moment for around RM 30k?

After reading here for the problems the earlier Suprima batches had, I'm not sure if it's a good investment

The problem with reading some online comments is that it's pretty hard to get a real lock on the actual statistics. Even owners doesn't know if it happens to one percent or less.

The other perspective are, how many confirmed owners ditch the ride and move on to something else due to issues?

Anyway if you have doubt.... Don't do it man. Not worth the trouble. Besides Malaysian are not exactly objective when it comes to proton if shit happens.

Yeah true, I can see what you mean. It's hard to really tell if there are actually a lot of problems or not, because every forum would havw people with problems 😅

I'm looking at the Suprima because of the safety features for the price. I think I saw that you owned one in the earlier posts, right? How's your experience?

Yup even Preve is around that price. Since you mention it, how's your experience with the car? How's your fuel consumption? Is it also around 9-13 km like most people say are for Suprima? Because I cant decide yet since the prices and specs all are close to each other

haha.. nice car. mine one very lousy noice insulation.. guess the insulator wear down over time.. if drive fast can hear wind sound.

but handling and space is very good. can attack downhill in karak-gombak @ >100 kmh at those very steep corner (with PS4 tyre).

so far i torture the car on highway (ram engine up to 5-6K rpm few seconds.. no issue on gearbox yet).

for fuel comsumption.. is really in different world if compared to civic 1.5t. normally around 8-9 L/100km mixed drive. but i didnt bother as my petrol can be claim from company.

Preve sounds good for you. How's the maintenance though? You had a lot of problems with it?

haha. maintenance ah.. a bit tricky.. last time i used to go one of the dealer service center and get con. the money get conned sufficient for the next service.

if normal maintenance. is ok (not too expensive, and not too cheap) luckly so far didnt have those OCH and gearbox problem (used for 1year 3 months already). (if not gg, need to fork out huge money for it).

so.. its good to know the owner of the car that you want to purchase..so that you know whats problem with the car... if you bought the one got burst OCH history.. most likely the oil cooling assembly has clogged up aldy one or there is sludge inside the engine aldy..

need to be very careful when choose the used car. Last time mine one is used by proton COE shah alam, luckly they do all the maintenance following schedule, so no pain in the ass.

if want buy second hand.. i suggest go for "showroom car" advertised by 2nd hand dealer.. but then need to check car plate against proton service center record.. to prove that the mileage is genuine..

FYI just done recall replacement of flywheel, CVT damper, crankshaft bolt and including replacement of CVT oil free of charge. However you need to pay for alignment about RM26.50. If you want to proceed with the replacement, be prepare to leave your car for few days. So far felt little bit improvement like more smooth and more responsive when going up ramp. I was advised to temporary restrain from stepping drastically on the throttle.

For me, full tank is around RM RM 85-90. 100% town driving i can get 410 kilometer.
If highway drive can get higher.

Hey guys,

I have a 2015 Suprima and today I could not start the car because the battery is totally dead. Then I realized the radio was not turned off overnight even i kill the engine! And this happen a year after I have to change the battery March last year because it was dead due to the cooling fan still turned on after the engine was switched off. Anyone facing the same issue?

Thinking of selling the car now 😭
