Seems a lot of us having the same dilemma. Which phone to switch to.

I am sure you can keep since the phone is not in production anymore and the S-pen could not fit any other phone if they re used. No harm to try ask for safe keep and as souvenir.

If you not intend to use, does it matter if samsung remotely shutdown or limit the system?

Just imagine Note 7 never exist in this world, what's the phone you going to get.

Wait for LG V20 or Google Pixels.

If you cannot wait,

P9 Plus, S7E or iPhone 7 Plus.

Same because it's made of glass. Dont need to worry because you get free one year screen crack warranty if you choose exchange with S7edge.

theoretically they can't legally shut off without taking some risks. what if the owner is lost in jungle or kidnapped or having emergency and the phone is their only means and somehow the phone is shut out simply because they want to force you to return it?

they can do that when the phone is reported to be stolen but when it is a voluntary recall, it's not all black and white. keyword: voluntary. hence you don't see any legal notices that threatens the existing owners to return immediately. you can see their wording use of the english word "should" littered on their note 7 recall pages.

good one...then i think i am still stuck with my note 5,but the scenario now is diff due to we have used and feel note 7 smoothness n greatness which makes it hard to find a replacement with spen

just don't perform software update. should be ok.

dont use as daily or main driver. sometimes need to power up and enjoy the beauty

Screen crack warranty can only be bought within the first 30 days after you purchased your phone. The warranty covers only 1st year. Screen crack warranry Cannot buy again. Phone can buy again.

From the website, it stated 17th oct onward. Is this mean only 18th Oct can start refund or 17th oct and onward can start refund?

P9 & plus are in my list.
Deinitely will not go for s7e, the screen not works on me.
