We just have to see how things evolve as the instructions to totally refund or replace with S8/Note8 rests with Korea, Malaysia is just following orders. Getting S7 Edge as interim is easier since Note7 production halted, production line to focus on S7 Edge this year.
*
Let say if Samsung let the Note 7 owners to replace their phones with S7/S7 edge, I wonder whether there is enough amount of S7/S7 edge to be given out at such a short period. If not enough, rushing the product line again? rclxub.gif

It has been confirmed that Samsung stop production of Note 7. Android Authority, Verge, Techno buffalo, Phonearena GSM arena, posting the same news. This could be the end of Note7. Expecting official announcemnt from Samsung really soon.
*
Hopefully our local telco will follow from US telco and offer full refunds to customers if they choose not to own a Note 7 anymore. Either that or give option to swap with other phones (or an iPhone even) with the same value. That would be the proper way.

I saw quite alot of people out there, in USA forum, they said if the Samsung call to recollect back the device and for refund, they will definitely won't give back the phone.. 10 out of million of phone is really that low possibility. Not only Samsung will facing a loss, third parties company casing, like spigen, otterbox, they also facing a huge loss too.

If they won't give back the phones, then another problems will arise. Because of the public awareness, people sure will look at them and some may be frustrated, at the end, conflicts may happen. Unless they decided to kepp it and use it at home....

agreed. note7 didn't get best android phone (currently) for nothing... it deserved it because it's that good.

that's why when i started to think abt what phone to get if there's a recall/ refund... i cannot think of sth that really matches the note7. and like some here... i might just go back to my old phone and then wait for the next Note.

but i really do hope they can the curved edges. watch movies pun not so fun coz cropped at top and bottom (when viewing in landscape). then smart select... if i need to select the edges... my goodness... so difficult and i ended up using finger instead.

if really refund... i hope this time Samsung MY be more generous and let us keep all freebies. like what TMo announced for their customers -- can keep the Gear Fit, etc... and even get cash voucher or sth...
*
Yup. Me back to redmi 3s (battery life really good). Next mybe huawei mate 9. Hopefully no recall and i dont need to think at all. Hahaha

But it's really not a very siok feeling to opt for another phone, so far none of the phone in market can compete with note 7.

The people not very siok feeling include me la.. Haha.

LGV20 and pixel, only this two is Okok only can compete with note 7. other than that not my type..

As I am using Note 5 now, as other people said, once you go for Note, you won't be able to going back! It's true! Dreaming about changing to coral blue Note 7 since the 1st day it was announced. But now? haih~~~I guess i will have to extend the 2nd year warranty for my Note 5... doh.gif

i came from s7e too, not bad although i felt the edges were too slopy. the n7 has a better balance between looks and usability.

I'm now using note 4 and 7 as well. It's really a huge pain to downgrade to note 4. Note 7 such a very good phone.

But..... Very unfortunate.

Haiz. Pray hard and wait for the announcement from Samsung no matter from Korea or Malaysia.

So far the cases have only happened in US which are using the Snapdragon processor, could it be just affecting those units? I know this is wishful thinking

Not only in US, there are also cases in Korea and Taiwan (using Exynos processor). The processor is not the root cause. That's why samsung decided to stop the production until further notice.

Yes. People surround me also like that. But what can it be? That's the fact.

Hope for the best coming. If want wait for next note series, it's such a very long time to wait.. Third quarter of 2017. Now is just 2016.

They don't want to see Note 7 in the house. So sad man.... Even old people without tech knowledge also anti Samsung product d.....
