QUOTE(jerryhean @ Oct 7 2016, 09:39 AM) Anyone using the phone without any sp? i was using the pre-recalled unit for about 3 weeks with screen protector, even no casing. really love the feel of it..so slim and smooth feeling, nicely contoured. and using the spen was great...it just glides along the screen smoothly. just before handing back, i checked and couldn't see any scratches. but i must say i didnt check very thoroughly, just scan at an angle under some lights. i didn't particularly baby it or stress it during this period, just trying to use it as normally as i do. i do make sure the pants pocket where i keep the phone doesnt contain anything else though.

really enjoy using the note7, best phone i ever used. pity it has to come to this. well, i don't mind another recall or even refund if that's the way things develop into. but can't think of a satisfactory replacement. maybe lgv20 is the next closest thing but no spen is a big drawback for me.

QUOTE(eagleknight @ Oct 10 2016, 10:46 AM) Any guru here know how to activate Secure Folder if I have disabled all bloatware by PDP? Thanks don't disable all the KNOX stuff. secure folder relies on those api to keep files encrypted and secured.

QUOTE(brandon8921 @ Oct 10 2016, 11:23 AM) I just came from S7edge only......... Arrghh have to struggle looking for new phone again. i came from s7e too, not bad although i felt the edges were too slopy. the n7 has a better balance between looks and usability.

QUOTE(stormaker @ Oct 11 2016, 10:51 PM) That's the good thing abt Android, we have choices. Not like the fruit that u re worshipping, just swallow whatever they throw at u. Why u have apps if u dont need file management ? The fruit say so ? +1. Will never consider the ip7. Restrictive framework, big brother mentality, walled garden - ain't for me. Wonder why need to do hard sell in here...not good enough to attract on it's own...lol.

QUOTE(Necromancer @ Oct 11 2016, 11:22 PM) Been using Note since the first generation and this whole Note 7 fiasco saddens me. I have no words left to defend Samsung except for the fact that probably QC wasn't conducted thoroughly or some parties are truly involved in sabotaging the company. Nevertheless, they have to own up to the problem, which they're certainly doing so. Currently waiting for more news to get refund for those who have gotten the replacement models. Also putting some serious thought into which phone should I get as a substitute. This is no easy task. It is extremely difficult if you've been using Note for years. Closest thing would probably be the S7 Edge for now but I'm not a fan of the sides which are too curved and the lack of stylus. With rumors on how the S8 would be like, I also find quite "shortchanged" in terms of time factor to get the S7E. Besides the S7E, I'm also looking at the LGV20 (does not look as sexy as the N7 unfortunately), One Plus 3 (the camera could make me regret) and the Google Pixel. What will most of you guys be getting? Can also consider the huawei p9 plus if you care about camera quality. Or the mate 9... Suppose to launch next week.

QUOTE(Necromancer @ Oct 11 2016, 11:44 PM) So you're saying that you will continue to use it? Or will you just be keeping it as a part of your collection? Either way, it will never make it to our shores. This is tragic, we don't even live to see and feel the Blue Coral. The Huawei range looks good especially the P9 since I'm quite a heavy Insta user but yeah, they still seem to be quite far from what the Note series has been offering. The experience has spoiled us all I believe. It would be infuriating to see Samsung discontinuing the Note series just from this fiasco alone. Correct me if I'm wrong but it has been the Phablet which has set the benchmark for the other players. So far, none has managed to reach this level, not even in terms of how it blows. They may discontinue using the Note moniker but doubt they well give up the pen+phablet niche. They are not fools, they should know this is a niche they utterly dominates. Hardly any competitors here (lg and Asus amongst those with half hearted responses). It will probably live on with another reboot
