got feeling it is not the battery problem. Something wrong with the board design or hardware that control the battery. Quickcharge and increasing the battery density, sound like a bad idea now. Quickcharge do damage the battery too.

Prefer smaller battery, more power efficiency. you get better battery life, smaller or lighter phone, charging speed fast. That is the right way.

Don't blame them, this is forum, it happens, all the time. 
There are probably a few worthy devices that are more capable than Note 7 but it sounds like you need the S-Pen more than anything else.

Do consider Google's Pixel, S7E or maybe LG V20.

So if Samsung is going to kill Note7, we may expect either refund campaign or get a free exchange to S8 or Note8 with S7 Edge as interim phone.

The money to refund will come from Korea, just... How to process the refund is another matter, there are telcos plan as well.
I won't pay the difference, the risk and inconvenience caused is already worth whatever difference between the price, in fact, I expect S Gear or 360° cam as compensation too.

It's because Xiaomi explosion only happened inside China mainland. As long as it happened inside China, it would be covered up easily (you know why). On the other hand, Samsung is a super famous brand around the world. And Note 7 users are everywhere around the world (for most part). We should not put Samsung and Xiaomi on the same level when it comes to explosion cases.

no carriers selling + consumer confidence low, no amount of marketing can change that.
will be terrible investment if they do

the only way to salvage anything is full refund + a really problem free unit. Even then... people might still refuse it.
