the owner go with media with this news, isnt he or she? why cant the owner give the device back to samsung for investigstion and log a report with CPSC who now investigate the note 7 issue. nothing better to get the governor offical involve unless u up to something other than the note 7 safety.
*
If I am the owner, I will ask media to know where shall I give the device for investigation.

Given back to Samsung? Nope, in this stage and in such low happening, a lot company will do hiding. I not saying Samsung will and not saying Samsung won't either.

Did you really believe the company won't cover it up? This is already a replacement unit, the company mostly will trying to covering up than given the actual fact.

Lucky (for consumer not Samsung) this time it happened in publicity airplane, and the owner is smart to prevent the company if plan on covering up.

In such short time Samsung give the replacement, it is pretty obvious Samsung didn't do a deep investigate on the phone and also a mass production in such short timing means again't a very bad QC.

And what you expect us to do?

Btw, congratulations for having western modernised mentality, working in company that put safety as no 1 priority and last but not least, owned both iPhone and android.

You CAN ask REFUND from Samsung instead of playing "the victim" game .

You HAVE the choice. But most Malaysian like to give excuses anyway rclxm9.gif

Read the news again. I think this is the reason why he refused to give the device back to Samsung.

QUOTE
Klering says he felt Samsung was helping him, until he got a text message from a Samsung representative that was not intended to go to him.

That message read: Just now got this. I can try and slow him down if we think it will matter, or we just let him do what he keeps threatening to do and see if he does it

"It made me think you know they're not taking this serious enough and it's time to move on," Klering said.

As for the "get the governor offical involve" part, the news did mention this:

QUOTE
So now Klering says he is seeking legal help.

I believe soon or later the govt official will involve, no matter he wants it or not.

Anyway, as I said earlier, the owner refused to give the phone to Samsung simply because he does not trust Samsung due to that message he received.

2 possibilities. Either that owner was lying about something, or that owner does not trust Samsung and he was afraid that samsung may cover it up.

If my life is already threaten like this, I wouldn't even lie. It was obvious that Samsung will try to cover up if he returned the phone.

CPSC is involve in the investigation. there is no way they will hide the truth. for the recent airline case, the devise is also investigate by samsung with CPSC help. there is no way to know the cause of this without checking it.

Let CPSC investigate fully, yes, but if let Samsung own itself investigate - nope.

If things happen, the investigate shall be done by third party not company itself.

You need to understand that this case was happened before that airplane case, before the CPSC was involved. At that time, the owner did not know how to handle it. All he did was refuse Samsung's offers due to trust issue. Now since it's exposed to the medias, may be the owner will send the phone to CPSC or other govt agencies soon. Or may be they will reach to him soon. vice versa.

What is this trash? Refuse to let Samsung investigate, and then blame Samsung for not making an official statement. How are they supposed to make an official statement if the trash refused to let Samsung investigate? You guys don't seriously expecting Samsung to make an official statement just solely based on "WORDS". Just as a previous case, the so-called garbage victim ended up exposed to had tampered his phone for the explosion and clickbait news.

Since this is the case, isn't that it is more wise just to keep quiet until CPCS or whatever investigated it since Samsung can't do anything?

Seriously, there were so many people died out every single day there yet you guys who were so concerned on safety and human life flocking in a phone thread. You guys are wasting you guys potential or just a troll.

I read the news that the investigation is lead by samsung with CPSC help. I not sure if they hire any third parties to check. But recent note 7 case in korea, they do hire the Switzerland SGS to check on it. SGS found it to be cause by external shock and not the battery problem.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/samsung-con...re-508937.shtml

I do hope they thoroughly check it for the safety of consumer.

Actually I don't think it is only the battery issue, the whole phone probably got design issue.

The phone can explode in pressure means it is not safe already. (done by Singapore lab).

It may not easier to explode but in certain circumstances it may also explode means it is pretty fragile and dangerous.

How can be in such short time can do replacement? Samsung obvious didn't deep investigation the root cause. Also it is another batch of pushing the product, this means no proper productions and QC.

Perhaps it's a design issue which might lead to unnecessary pressure applies to the battery.

Probably, Samsung shall do more investigation before re-release to market, or perhaps totally freeze this model and move on to the next re-design new model.

I know it cost a lot, but safety and consumer trust is most important I believe.

Obviously it's either the old Note 7 or spy hired to jeopardize Samsung, no surprise since iPhone7 sales was so disappointed, apparently all smartphone company wanted to Samsung die.

The same lab also said that any smart phone will go into frame if apllied same pressure like that. I think they just take the opportunity for the note 7 issue.

this case.. is the first. even before airlines case.

if sincere, Samsung should have reported to the agency of this case. they did not.. until that airlines case.

for those who change phones like shirts.. we welcome your feedback too since you're a user. but asking ppl to stop posting negative but are facts.. one needs to wonder.. why? isn't this news? or worried there's no resale value?

and what happens when you change phones? you'd already asked those who are sincere to discuss about the phone to leave this thread...

just skip his video. his video is full of hate as mentioned on the comments it self. How can be the title is full review where he endless pointing out the same frust. I don't see it help us on the pre order owners by any means.

Same goes to alot unverified sources, many choose to believe just because it went viral or so and even some prominent news portal use this tactic just to get news value. So it would be best for one if really keen to share the news, to take consideration of the accuracy or concreteness of the sources.

any organisations that try to cover up these days..

need to know. it's almost impossible.

think snowden.

think takata. eventually, it'll blow in the face.

naturally, ppl still skeptical when asked to give access to device. not to say Samsung will.. but they could. they can offer cash in exchange for keeping quiet, etc.. isn't that what many ppl would do? compensate me...

usually, best way would be to have an agency investigate it. whether they wanna work with Samsung, etc.. up to agency la.

ideally, Samsung should have immediately reported the case and worked with agency. they did not until the airlines case.

in regards to why it's not happening in Malaysia.. think statistics. if % of such thing happening is 1 in 100k, Samsung Malaysia sold probably only 10k (probably way less). so statistically speaking.. less chance of out happening to a unit in Malaysia...

I agree that reviewer is misleading on his title. You are right that it does not help you all on the pre order owners by any means. But please keep in mind that video is not made for the owners. It's for the people who are still considering whether to buy Note 7 or not. As you can see, that reviewer already put that description "is this phone still worth buying?" on the preview.

My questions how many hole that Samsung will try to cover up? If this only one case of it. And we got approximate 2 mill devices around the world? And covering up comes with cost though. Just something to ponder. If I were Samsung, I might think numerous of times doing so. There's so many loop hole from the user perspective so to speak.
