QUOTE(mydragoon @ Oct 9 2016, 03:03 PM) I wonder why the owner refuse to give the device for checking. Since it is destroy, no point in keeping it. The whole thing sound abit fishy. Just wait how Samsung response to it. Isn't CPSC getting involve in investigation? If there is really a problem in replacement Note 7, CPSC will ensure Samsung recall the product. Not point in worry about these unverified story yet.

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Oct 9 2016, 03:56 PM) 2 possibilities. Either that owner was lying about something, or that owner does not trust Samsung and he was afraid that samsung may cover it up. the owner go with media with this news, isnt he or she? why cant the owner give the device back to samsung for investigstion and log a report with CPSC who now investigate the note 7 issue. nothing better to get the governor offical involve unless u up to something other than the note 7 safety. QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Oct 9 2016, 04:13 PM) If I am the owner, I will ask media to know where shall I give the device to for investigation. Given back to Samsung? Nope, in this stage and in such low happening, a lot company will do hiding. I not saying Samsung will and not saying Samsung won't either. CPSC is involve in the investigation. there is no way they will hide the truth. for the recent airline case, the devise is also investigate by samsung with CPSC help. there is no way to know the cause of this without checking it.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Oct 9 2016, 04:24 PM) Let CPSC investigate fully, yes, but if let Samsung own itself investigate - nope. If things happen, the investigate shall be done by third party not company itself. I read the news that the investigation is lead by samsung with CPSC help. I not sure if they hire any third parties to check. But recent note 7 case in korea, they do hire the Switzerland SGS to check on it. SGS found it to be cause by external shock and not the battery problem. http://news.softpedia.com/news/samsung-con...re-508937.shtmlI do hope they thoroughly check it for the safety of consumer.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Oct 9 2016, 04:39 PM) Actually I don't think it is only the battery issue, the whole phone probably got design issue. The phone can explode in pressure means it is not safe already. (done by Singapore lab). It may not easier to explode but in certain circumstances it may also explode means it is pretty fragile and dangerous. How can be in such short time can do replacement? Samsung obvious didn't deep investigation the root cause. Also it is another batch of pushing the product, this means no proper productions and QC. The same lab also said that any smart phone will go into frame if apllied same pressure like that. I think they just take the opportunity for the note 7 issue. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/art...ed-battery.htmlThis post has been edited by dlsl: Oct 9 2016, 04:50 PM

QUOTE(eternity4av @ Oct 9 2016, 06:01 PM) Of course there's no wrong, but it won't help as in you already stated you will get the iPhone 7 Plus right, so why bother to be part of the mess? I would be gratitude if you're the first to post there's official Samsung announcement, rather than some news portal that post just to get more visitors. As I mean there are hardly a people that do not own the device who will pay so much attention, since he/she already not interested in the first place. Unless like Max which he already mention his intention to get the phone at least. Now phone caught fire is the hot news now. IPhone is also sharing the same fate: http://www.phonearena.com/news/iPhone-6-Pl...charger_id86356I do believe lithium battery is very dangerous. It may get explode if charge wrongly like using thied party charger. Note 7 also no exception.

QUOTE(genjo @ Oct 12 2016, 12:54 PM) Any other brand's phone to recommend that performance almost / lose a bit compare to Note 7? Im interest in pixel xl. mainly is the phone that get first in update and spot a new SD821. Is pixel phone going to launch here? S7 edge is another alternative but S8 is around the corner. I will consider change to S7 edge if samsung give great discount for note 7 owner.
